Recently, in 2020, The US department of Justice has sued Google in a massive antitrust lawsuit. The DOJ claims that Google's exclusionary practices hurt the market and even consumers because those practices could deprive them of the innovation that competition brings. Google says the lawsuit is "deeply flawed". Antitrust cases are usually slow and could take years. But a decision could impact both Google's billions of users and the billions of people who use competing services.

In 2020, Greenpeace protested Shell's plans to pollute the North Sea. The protestors used occupation and legal battles to fight against the corporation. This would eventually led to Shell removing abandoned oil tankers from the sea.

  3. Find a right on the list that is not guaranteed by the US government. Why do you think this right is not protected by the US government? Article 24 is not protected by the US government. I think this right is not protected by the US government because it is hard to limit working hours as many different work environments fluctuate in the amount of hours needed to keep a business running.

  1. What happened during this event?/What led these companies to be created? Give some context around the event or creation of a company. During Brexit, The United Kingdom withdrew from the European Union. They felt as they could benefit greatly from no longer being in the EU.  
  2. What type of response is this to globalization? (Think SPICE themes) Brexit is was a response to all five spice themes. The UK thought that EU gave the UK a Social, Political, Interaction, Culture and Economic disadvantage. 
  3. How is this an anti-globalization response? Brexit is an anti-globalization response because EU was a globalization in which 27 countries interacted in all forms of SPICE. 
  4. What happened as a result of this response? UK goods trade was 15% lower and almost every industry was affected by Brexit due to the reduced investment and recession and migrated workforces and skilled worker shortages.

  5. Are there any controversies surrounding this organization? If so, summarize them. Some critics of the UN have said that it threatens national sovereignty and promotes globalism. They also say that the UN gives legitimacy to dictatorial and often terrible regimes.

Recently the WHO released the Strategic Preparedness and Response Plan unveiling how they step by step handled the issue by using prevention, surveillance, containment, treatment, coordination and much more.
