Especially now that we are in a Hybrid learning, which teacher teach remote and in-person students at the same time using tools like video conferencing hardware and software. In some cases, hybrid classes include asynchronous learning elements, like online exercises and pre-recorded video instruction, to support face-to-face classroom sessions.

I think it will be very helpful in sharing timely mental health tips and reminders which can help in the well-being of the learners. Aside from this, it may also help in notifying them of their routine interview schedules. We can also utilize the LMS during our guidance class activities by uploading online exercises and learning materials. I think there are a lot of opportunities that the LMS can provide to help us make our programs and services in the guidance office easier and convenient.

As a teacher, I see the integration of LMS in my practice as a chance for growth and innovation, especially in my academic field where multimedia resources can significantly enrich the learning process. LMS provides a centralized platform for distributing course materials, administering quizzes, managing grades, and facilitating discussions, creating a more interactive and engaging learning environment. Despite challenges such as technical issues, the learning curve with new technology, and the need for continuous updates, I am committed to ongoing professional development and actively seek training opportunities to enhance my LMS proficiency. I also value open communication with my students, encouraging them to share their concerns and feedback on their LMS experience, enabling me to make necessary adjustments. In summary, despite its challenges, I view LMS as a valuable tool that can augment my teaching and students’ learning experience.

To embrace the challenge of using a Learning Management System (LMS) in my teaching profession, I will take several steps. First, I will familiarize myself with the LMS and its features specific to my academic discipline. Then, I will adapt my teaching materials to fit the LMS format, making them easily accessible online. I will engage students through interactive activities provided by the LMS, such as discussion forums and virtual classrooms. Regularly monitoring student progress within the LMS will allow me to provide timely feedback and support. I will also encourage collaboration and communication among students, promoting a sense of community. Lastly, I will continuously seek professional development opportunities to stay updated with the latest LMS advancements. By following these steps, I hope to enhance the learning experience for my students and adapt to the evolving digital landscape of education.

-P. Matias

LMS may be look upon as a challenge or as an opportunity. For me LMS is more of an opportunity rather than a challenge as it expands the learning capacity and reach. Learning, training and education is no longer confined in a classroom setting or conference center. LMS has wide range of users i.e. education institutions, government agencies, profit and non-profit organizations. It easily creates, delivers and manages learning courses that benefit students, teachers, administrators and parents. In small to large corporations, LMS helps in onboarding, training and retaining employees. Training, education, recognition are critically important factors for employees who seek for career growth and development. I don’t see any reason why a school or a company would not adapt a learning management system.

Taking advantage of how the LMS works would help lessen the educator’s time for other administrative work and focus more on developing the lessons and spending more time with their family. I have experienced not having such kind of platform. It caused me a lot of my time checking papers and computing the grades of my students. There were times that I would take home my work and even spend my weekends doing the paperwork. This would have been avoided if only our school had LMS.

This brings me to happily accept the challenge of using LMS, given the chance to teach or be a part of academe again in the future, for it will be very beneficial for me and for the students, knowing how tech savvy are they nowadays.

Using LMS as another modality of teaching is not new to me. I became familiar with it during the pandemic. At first, it was difficult for me to engage myself in the new modality of teaching. Though seminars and orientation were conducted for the new mode of reaching out to our learners, I still had my resistance and complaints in learning the new way. But then as the days, weeks, and months went by I slowly appreciated the help and importance of LMS to the learners and teachers. Using LMS gives a lot of benefits to both teachers and students. One of those it lessens the work of a teacher, especially in computing and making the grades of the students. For the students, updates on their performance can be easily seen and evaluated if they pass or not to the subject, they enrolled in. Both also will enhance their capabilities of creating and discovering new ideals of teaching and learning style as they continue to immerse themselves in using this educational learning innovation.

-Sr. Nove T.

for me, LMS came at the right time. as we become more aware of technology in our lives and education. it is only evident that we must also make use of it at its most useful way. LMS came when people were in a locked down days, where learning seems so far fetch and educators would not know how they will teach. Adapting to LMS made learning more fun and conducive. It made a lot people like me, who wore many hats to still learn at their own phase, in their most comfortable place (home) while still being present to their families. for me, LMS is a blessing because I get to learn independently in my own phase and not having to travel and be exhausted about school and learning.

As an educator and a part of the pandemic history, LMS has helped at least 75% of a teacher's life. It is important to find an LMS that's not only quality for the student but also the quantity if the Teacher can contribute to further enhancement of a student's learning. Of course, there are a lot of pros and cons to consider. Some LMS still need a reboot i.e. When a student has a connection problem during the exams and he/she runs out of time to finish the exams because of a slow connection. As teachers, you would want to give them another chance hence you will restart the student's time.

Some pros will be the easy way of gathering scores and computing grades. The tracking of records is made easier, also parents can be updated with their child's status in school.

But in the end it's a challenge I'm willing to take.

From my personal standpoint, using the Learning Management System (LMS) allows a more unique learning and teaching experience for its users. It is a powerful modern tool that encourages increased learner engagement and interactivity. In addition, deploying LMS is a critical part of augmenting collaborative learning among students.

To fully engage myself in the challenge of LMS in my academic discipline, I need to be creative in customizing materials and resources that fit the learners' needs. Having a willingness to learn/explore the LMS makes it easier to accept the challenge and to navigate its features effectively. In my field of work as a Guidance Associate, it is vital not just to maintain a healthy flow of communication with the students but to also address the importance of one's mental health and well-being through utilizing various functionalities of LMS (e.g. infographics, mentoring sessions, routine interviews, reading materials)

Lastly, I think gathering students' feedback is a useful way to ensure that the content of available materials/resources is beneficial to their holistic development. This would provide me with ideas on what needs to be improved and modified to further assist the student's academic growth.

- Coleen Salac
