These beaches and places shaped my childhood and the childhoods of generations of Cape Codders. My earliest memories are of walking through the low tide with my brother at Mayflower Beach, searching for hermit crabs and sand dollars - and being carried in on my boogie board by the small waves that crashed on the shores of the Cape Cod National Sea Shore. These places now look different every time I visit home - they are collapsing in on themselves as we race against the clock to address the effects of climate change. My home is growing smaller.
