There is roughly three millennia of mercury pollution plaguing Peru and other places in south america. Pollution has also increased due to methane from farming and the industrial boom. It is again, another place impacted by industry and a high amount of industry pollutions

Mining, livestock production, and poor waste managements are the main pollution in Ancient Europe.

In modern times, it is effected by industry and transportation pollutants, but not as severe as non-western continents. Thanks to regulations in a majority of European countries, they maintain a cleaner environment and air.

Pollution isn't believed to happen in most of South Asia until the industrial revolution as a result of English colonization. They essentially spread the heavy, major wave of pollution through the major increase of productivity through the use of machines that gave off heavy smog.

India and many other places in South Asia have yet to recover from the pollution or the institutionalized pattern of hard cheap labor that produces major pollution.

The pollution in China stems as far back as the Han dynasty, caused by crop and livestock farming. Overtime, the methane levels increased from the farming, and started a forming air pollution. Severe cooling of the Earth also contribute to metal pollution in the South China sea, but a real effect wasn't seen until around the 1800s.

East Asia is notably polluted in modern times. They have notably thick smog clouds that result in a need for face masks or even the delusional concept of buying bottled air. It is also another country effected by the industrial revolution boom, and an economy supported on hard, cheap, pollutant heavy labor.

Pollution in Africa didn't typically start until colonization vastly spread. It was mostly caused by over farming kola and cacao. The style of farming in Africa can cause run off, and pollute water.

In modern times, it is polluted by industry, transportation, and other various poor practices.

Scholars in the Middle East wrote several books on pollutants in the Middle East. Starting as far back as 1000s, they started cited causes for air pollution, environmental pollution, and causes for sickness. They also have natural air pollution from salts and sand.

In modern times, the middle east is impacted by pollution from transportation and industry, like many non-western areas, and heavily impacted by smog and air pollutants. The heavy dependency on trade of fossil fuels also impacts the pollution level.

Conclusion

In the past, there was a major decrease in pollution, for obvious reasons. There wasn't a major impact in pollution until the industrial revolution, millennia after many of the cited pollution in this presentation. It is also arguable that heavy pollution in non-western places is caused by colonization. Colonization caused the spread of industry, the increase of industrial labor in colonies, the lack of knowledge on how to solve the issue, and the dependency on the harmful work.

Looking at the history of pollution is important because it helps show the cause.
