Their was a bad avalanche in California's Sierra Nevada Mountains. One of the world's foremost avalanche experts said the factors involved in the deaths of at least eight skiers in a major slide in California's Sierra Nevada Mountains will come from the survivors. "I think it's just as plausible that they were doing something that was normally safe, but it was just an unprecedented event and that they just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. It's just bad luck." The bodies of seven women and a man killed in the avalanche were recovered, but ongoing inclement weather has prevented search crews from transporting the victims from the back country to a morgue in the nearby town of Truckee. Six members of the ski group were rescued Tuesday evening. The Blackbird mountain guides said that the 3 employees that were killed were "highly experienced members of our guide team."

Iran has taken steps to signal its readiness for war, including fortifying its nuclear sites and rebuilding missile production facilities. Iranian and the US held indirect talks for almost 4 hours on Tuesday. But it ended with no clear resolution. Satellite imagery of the Imam Ali Missile Base in Khorramabad, captured on January 5, shows that of the dozen structures destroyed by Israel, three have been rebuilt, one has been repaired while three others are currently under construction. The facility houses silo launch sites critical for firing ballistic missiles with earthwork and construction around them.

Oil prices have been going up, and it is suspected that the US is going to attack Iran. Trump told a reporter commenting on the spike in oil price and asking if the US is going to attack Iran, he said ¨You´re going to be finding out over the next probably 10 days¨. Some of the reasons for the oil price increase might be the warmer weather coming, which means more travel and more demand. The US demand for oil is at an all-time high in the Trump Administration. If the US attacks Iran, that would be the 2nd attack on a foreign nation with some ties to the oil industry this year.

A ranch in New Mexico, The Zorro Ranch owned by Jeffery Epstein is now opening back up for investigation. A previous investigation happened in 2019 but was closed. The ranch hosted many of Epstein's guests. While Epstein's town home and island were searched, the ranch never was. With multiple women coming forward to say that they were assaulted on the ranch in the mid 1990s. On December 20th in 2019 an email stated that no one had searched the property. There was information in files that were previously unavailable that led to the investigation being reopened.

More than 6 years ago, Jeffery Epstein was arrested for charges of sex trafficking and assault. A case involving that has been reopened in New Mexico. Zorro Ranch, an area used by Epstein, has become the site where multiple girls got assaulted, including Annie Farmer. The property, now dubbed the "Playboy Ranch", is getting looked over for illegal activies. "Upon reviewing information recently released by the U.S. Department of Justice, Attorney General Raúl Torrez has ordered that the criminal investigation into allegations of illegal activity at Jeffrey Epstein’s Zorro Ranch be reopened," Lauren Rodriguez. Records released by the DOJ say no one used Zorro. They are still going to search the area for activies.

Being royal and the favorite son of the late Queen Elizabeth II did not stop officers from arresting Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor due to being in the recent release of the Jeffrey Epstein files. Police officers have not specifically addressed why he was arrested other than that they are questioning whether he shared confidential information with Epstein during his decade as a UK trade envoy. Which would be considered a misconduct in public office.

During winter, February 2023, at just a moment after 8 AM a police officer responded to a call and found Christine and a man, Joseph, dead. The woman sustained several stab wounds to her neck and her husband was shot multiple times in the chest and head. Brendan, the man who called 911, said he had found Joseph stabbing her to death and disarmed him by shooting him before giving aid to the dying woman. The reason Joseph has shown up to their house was because he believed that Christine was a woman he found on a fetish website and wanted to engage in what he believed was a consensual rape fantasy. Authorities wondered if this profile had actually been created by Christine.

A man has been convicted in the 1982 rape and murder of a young girl in Cloverdale, California, after investigators were able to use a cigarette to link him to the crime. Sarah was found dead after she left her friend's house on May 23, 1982. She was forcibly dragged down an alley, where she was raped and strangled to death using her own shorts, according to prosecutors. Her body was found the next morning by a fireman walking home after his shift. James Oliver Unick, who is 64, was convicted of murdering 13-year-old Sarah Geer with a special circumstance related to the sexual assault on Friday. He will be sentenced to life without the possibility of parole. The FBI conducted surveillance and was able to collect a discarded cigarette that Unick had been smoking. DNA analysis confirmed that the discarded cigarette matched the DNA profile they were searching for and matched DNA collected on numerous articles of clothing that Sarah had been wearing at the time of her death, the DA's office said.

An aid convoy was hit by drone strikes Thursday, killing three people and wounding four aid workers as it traveled to cities in central Sudan’s Kordofan region, the epicenter of fighting between the army and its rival.A U.N. convoy reached Dilling and Kadugli with aid for more than 130,000 people, the first major delivery in three months, United Nations agencies said Wednesday. However, aid workers are concerned about escalating violence.

Thursday's strike on the aid convoy is the second such incident in less than a month, according to Sudan Doctors Network. Earlier this month, an attack hit a World Food Program aid convoy in North Kordofan.

A major cartel boss named El Mencho was killed this past weekend. He was tracked by the Mexican government because of a romantic partner, and he was attacked while inside of a cabin 80 miles southwest of Guadalajara. He escaped the cabin and fled into the nearby forest, where he was injured and captured, and later died while being transported to receive medical treatment.
