When teaching present simple forms, it's important to bear in mind and explain it to the pupils, that before even forming a present simple sentence or a phrase, we need to understand that there are 2 possible verb families or groups:
1. State verbs - verbs that are describing the present state of someone (feelings, measurements, etc.)
2. Action verbs - basiclly all the other verbs that show actions by someon (eat, drink, play, etc.)
This distinction is important because it guides us which present simple form to use in the sentence according to the meaning we want to convey.
Attached a table that shows how to present the form on the board for students:

Meaning is a significant starting point when coming to use Present Simple Tense or Past Simple Tense . The speaker has to realize what is he going to say : is he going to refer to any variation of "be " or refer to an action . In other words , the speaker has to decide if he is going to use ""to be" or "to do" verbs .

Prior to learning broadly, present simpe you need to know a couple of important things.Present simple talks about habits or routines or facts in addition it talks about states of being . there are action verbs that describe an action like (run, dance ,talk) ,and there are stative verbs that talk about mental state of being like (love, like, know ,think).
Now about the verb
"to be "its an irregular verb, a speacial verb that is used alot in the english language and it has different forms of use .

When we want to teach present simple, it is important to distinguish between state verbs- "to be" and action verbs- "to do".
As teachers, we need to clarify our pupils that prior to speaking or writing, there should be a thinking process. During that process, it is essential to decide what they want to say (or write) and what is the meaning they wish to transfer. The meaning of the sentence and the notion, are the criterions that helps us decide which form to use.
