3. Provide a brief overview of what happened during the love canal. Was this situation good or bad for human health. Give specific reasons why it is or isn't. Could you imagine living in that environment. What affects did it have on human health? 

4. How could some of the events that occurred during the love canal lead to genetic mutations. Elaborate on specific mutations that caused by the event. (Do you know if those mutations are considered deletions, insertions, are substitutions)

5. Is there any way that we could use biotechnology to improve the health and environment of those impacted by the love canal. Elaborate on how. 3. Love canal was a situation in which a canal, which had had been abandoned by William T Love, became a site for chemical dumping and eventually had schools and homes built near it, leading to people dying and getting sick.

   This situation was disastrous for human health, as the chemicals had caused illnesses, fatalities, and the chemicals had even caused birth deformities of newborns. Looking back at this situation, I could not imagine living in this environment knowing that chemical waste is nearby. Some affects present that I did not mention earlier were nervous breakdowns, epileptic attacks, increased hypertension, and kidney damage.

   
   

4. Due to the nature of the chemicals present, these chemicals have led to genetic mutations to those residents near the love canal. These included mutations in chromosomes that could result in blindness, infertility, epilepsy, which can be caused by insertion or deletion of an ion channel, as well as

   asthma and nephrosis.

   
   

5. Biotechnology could greatly benefit the residents of love canal. For starters, bioremediation could be used to remove the chemicals present in the environment of love cannel by using bacteria and other microorganisms to break down these particles. As for how biotechnology could help the residents, there is Electrodermal activity measurement, which can be used to measure electrodermal responses, which are produced during epileptic seizures. Moving on, there is also monoclonal antibodies, which can be used to stop processes causing lung inflammation and therefore prevent things like asthma.
