First, I researched basic origami designs. Then I folded the design that I liked with a few different types of materials. The materials that I tested was paper, tinfoil, and plastic wrap. I ruled out paper and tinfoil because while paper is easy to fold but it will get soaked it the water and tinfoil is hard to fold. That leads me with plastic. So, I used a plastic water bottle. Then, I open a hole in the lower back of the bottle. I put straw in the back of the water bottle, and then I tapped the inside. I put baking soda in the bottle and vinegar. If you mix baking soda and vinegar, you get a chemical reaction which creates carbon dioxide gas. The gas only has one way to escape, and that's out the straw. This would push the boat forwards.

We glued together two water bottles and made a boat design on a lego platform. After the glue dried we tested the bottles to make sure they would float. Then we placed our legos ontop of the bottle and placed it in the water. It floated! Thats how we made our boat project.
