An idea will spread like wild fire once it reaches the "Tipping Point"

Well what's the tipping point? The tipping point is the point when your idea is no longer just something that intrigues curiosity from others, but it is an idea that people want to be a part of. When you get to that point there is no stopping your idea. It's a bull seeing red.

There are three types of people who are responsible for the "tipping" of an idea.

Gladwell claims that there are three people you need to get this idea up an running. The first of these three is the "connecter". The connector is someone with a strong social media presence and connections to important people who can your idea out there in the real world. Next we have the salesman. The salesman is someone with incredible positive energy (Charlie Weaver with the Devils). The salesman will talk about an idea they love with excessive pride and enthusiasm. The third and final person we need to spread an idea effectively is the "Maven". Mavens are hoarders...but with critical information. They generally have a large population who is influenced by their advice.

If your idea isn't "sticky" it'll never "tip"

Gladwell stickiness factor keys in on how intriguing an idea is. He claims if an idea isn't sticky enough it will never reach its masses. For example, Hot Wheels are remarkably more popular then matchbox cars. Why? Because Hot Wheels are Sticky!!! Hot Wheels have race tracks with dinosaurs! They have video games and frankly cooler cars then matchbox.

Jordan Belfort is having lunch with a group of potential business partners and we see an example of a sticky idea. Everyone wants to be rich..so he asks his potential business partner to sell him a pen, and we see a classic example of the businessman.
