Campuses will hold trainings, other staff-wide meetings, IEPs, or other events during this time. It&#39;s difficult for teachers to choose what to do, and I don&#39;t like it when they are put in this position. </title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Specialty programs (ex: CBT, Practical) need some coaching around discussing their observations about shared students, present levels, norming on supports they provide students, etc. The weekly PLC would be a great time to do this, but I have seen many just discussing department logistics or meeting as combined "CBT and Practical" groups and losing sight of discussing specific students.&nbsp;<br><br></div>]]></description>

         <title>ELL/ELD students are not really in reading classes, but many of the same supports that are valuable to our ESS students and general ed students for that matter (scaffolds, differentiation, leveled text, etc.) are frequently employed.          <description><![CDATA[<div>Many sites have not done any PLC training in recent years, so some site-level PLCs don't collaborate much - they are holding meetings to dispense info. &nbsp;If they try to accomplish something, it is usually to create a document for admin. In many cases, PLCs are trying to find a couple things everyone can agree on and then agree to disagree on common assessments/instructional methods.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Members of my summer curriculum team have some useful conversations about accommodations for ESS students, but most are lost with EL students.  Sally and I are trying to message out some additional strategies that science teachers can use, but teachers are incredibly overwhelmed right now and aren't necessarily sharing the load, often because they are in very different spaces and places in the curriculum, are using different instructional strategies, and have very different ideas of what it means to learn the concept/standard.</div>]]></description>
