• What did you learn about a character or group of people that you have not personally experienced? James McBride's  Was experiencing civilization from both African-Americans and white. Doesn't fit anywhere

   The race issues are seen in James McBride's own experiences. As a individual, James faces discrimination and prejudice from both black and white communities. he struggles to fit in with either racial group.

It showcases the author's independence and resilience, navigating the challenges of commuting at such a young age. This experience likely shaped their character and instilled a sense of self-reliance

• Race/Ethnicity Jews and Black people in the United States has shared struggles during the Civil Rights Movement.   Im the oldest, and the fact that I just don’t care for school anymore or anything it has to teach me because I don’t find it important, besides financial algebra

In "The Color of Water" by James McBride, the quote "The segregation laws come as a complete surprise to Mommy" reflects the stonishment when she confronts the racial segregation laws in America.

   When the book was written most schools had segregationist in the Midwestand and is shown in their life because they move to a new place where it is, but their mom tries to force them to go to the white school

  stuff I share with them is having my mom lean on me with stuff and having to do more when I was younger for my little brothers
