If there is a drought, most near by water sources will start to deplete through evaporation. So, their crops may not receive sufficient water to hydrate themselves and to grow, the harsh sunlight will cause them to dry up and wilt away at a much faster rate. The land, may also not be able to continue to be used for agricultural purposes after the drought. So, the farmers will have to find another plot of land to grow their crops again.

Most villagers living in rural places sell crops for a living, thus they are heavily depended on the growth of the crops. However, in some areas, locust invasion might happen, causing a severe crop damage.
For example in Mauritania, a severe locust invasion has caused drops in production and harvests in some villages.
Thus, many have chose to leave for the city in hopes for a better job opportunity.

Hence, the farmers will have no harvest, and therefore they will have no food to eat and to sell. So, people living in rural areas choose to live in the city, as there is a higher ratio of doctors to patients. Which means that there is a better healthcare in the city, as there will be multiple doctors tending to one patient. However, when the people from the rural areas move to cities, it increases the demand of housing in that city, but they supply does not meet the demand.
