In her most recent position as the Chief of Special Education and Specialized Programs for the Rochester, New York, School District, Kisha Morgan oversaw all specialized services including over 30 administrators in a school system serving more than 25,000 students. During her tenure in Rochester City Schools, she managed a $250 million annual budget and increased graduation rates amongst students with disabilities to its highest rate in more than 20 years. Prior to this role, Kisha Morgan worked as a special education teacher and administrator at Atlanta Public Schools. She holds state-level teaching credentials in New York and Georgia in multiple subjects, including math, science, and general curriculum. In addition to a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Clark Atlanta, she holds a master’s in special education and an Ed.S in educational leadership. After receiving her BA in psychology from Clark- Atlanta University, Kisha Morgan studied at Nova Southeastern University for an MS in special education and an educational specialist degree in educational leadership. She began her career as a special education teacher in the Atlanta Public Schools System (APS), and taught for almost a decade in elementary, middle, and high school. Kisha Morgan later assumed a building leadership role coordinating Special Education, Related Services, and 504 programs.
