1. Teacher presents a slide related to the topic of “Going Away” including:

• Definition of "Going Away".

• Things to bring when going on a trip or holiday. 

• Vocabulary related to traveling.

1. Pupils read the vocabulary words in the slide with correct pronunciation by repeating after the teacher.

To introduce pupils to "Going Away" topic and travel-related vocabulary.

1. Teacher distributes worksheets to all pupils regarding their proficiency levels (low, intermediate, and high)

2. Pupils read the passage given in their worksheet and answer the questions in 10 minutes. 

3. Then, teacher conducts the activity by showing the answer scheme on the LCD screen.

4. Pupils change their worksheets with their friends and mark each other answers based on the answer scheme.

To enhance reading comprehension skills at different proficiency levels and promote peer assessment through the use of answer scheme.

1. Teacher provides worksheets containing different prompts for the diary entry writing for students with low, intermediate, and high proficiency levels.

2. Pupils are asked to analyze, think, and write their answers in their exercise books.

   • low proficiency pupils (5 sentences)

   • Intermediate proficiency pupils (6 to 7 sentences)

   • High proficiency pupils (8 sentences)

3. Teacher assist the low proficiency pupils by giving them extra time to finish their work. 

4. Teacher call out 3 pupils’ names which are 1 pupil from each three levels to read aloud their diary entry writing.

5. Pupils are asked to submit their exercise books to teacher for marking. 

6. Teacher marks pupils answer by referring to the rubric.

To have pupils reflect on prompts, write thoughtfully, and express themselves clearly in a concise format.
