More preparation in terms of placement - simulated placement was a lot of information at once.

Would be nice to introduce what placement is going to be like during sem1 (before December break)

Preparation to deal with the financial cost of placement

Having the opportunity to talk with the older years about how to save money & accommodation whilst at placement because this was quite a struggle for everyone as it came as a shock

Would also be good to talk to older year groups if they ever wanted to carshare/house share if they had similar placement weeks.

Face to face sessions have always been the best method of delivering lectures as I feel more engaged whereas with online sessions I feel more distracted and less likely to concentrate

The toll placement can have on your mental health, this wasn’t spoken about prior to going on placement and I think it would be beneficial for new students to have this

Better scheduling of assessment support sessions. Instead of right at the beginning and then right at the end of the module when the assessment is due.

Not having as many practical sessions, with the open day it was made out that we would be using VERT more often and I think it would be beneficial if we all had a go on it, especially for first and 2nd years just looking at setup and having practice with looking at CT scans with staffs help. I relied on econtour a lot first year but didn’t have staff there to help

The length of the placement block was really good, enough time to get stuff done but not so long that you burn out

There is a big gap between placement and university in terms of learning, uni is very theory based and placement is very practical, would be useful if they could be bridge together more.

Prepare students better for placement. No students where aware of the financial costs if they where having to move away. The NHS bursary often does not cover this, so students need to have other forms of savings/ parents to help them out. However, understandably this isn’t possible for many students. No students should be placed in a placement site with no one else to live with weeks on end. I.e Lincoln is an awful placement site for students that ARE NOT commuters and need to find accommodation. Why are students expected to live in unsafe accommodation on their own for weeks on end i’ll never understand …
