The reason they were all there was because there was a "feast" which is backpacks each filled with the materials each player really needs. In this case Katniss needed medicine for Peeta Mellark. Clove eventually ended up getting her skull crushed by another competitor. My favorite/unfavorite part was when Katniss and Peeta survived because I was rooting for them the whole time. My favorite/unfavorite character was favorite Thresh because of how protective he was of the little girl Rue.If I could change one thing, it would be the temperature because it could possibly kill off players by itself which isn't fun. One technique the author used that I really liked/disliked wasmood and flashbacks because it helped the plot . One example of this is was how her flashbacks helped with Peeta’s love story . At the start of the novel Katniss is unknowing to love and willing to join the games so that her sister Prim doesn't have to. I know this because in the text it mentions"I'll volunteer I volunteer as tribute"says Katniss Everdeen pg 22. During the events that unfold, Katniss is rarely volunteering as tribute for the hunger games so her sister doesnt have the chance to die. This can be seen in chapter 2, when it states " I volunteer". At the end of the novel Katniss puts on a love show to survive and get sponsors.
