I was born into a family that valued family and hard work. My parents worked really hard Monday- Friday almost 60hrs a week/12hrs a day. I was technically raised by my older siblings who were only 4yrs older than me. We worked as a family because we knew that my parents worked so hard that we tried our best to make sure we had our homework done and we did our chores before they came home.
My parents worked in a factor but back in Mexico my dad was teacher. Both my parents worked to be somewhat in the middle-class.

I became a teenaged mother at the age of 15. I was told many times to have an abortion because my life was going to be over; however since I valued family and I knew that I loved my child no matter I needed to raise my child no matter what.

I graduated high school. Despite being a teenage single mother. I kept thriving for my daughter. I wouldn't had done it without the support and love my family did. Again, My older siblings helped me out since that's what we did. We helped each other and they helped me raise my daughter and help me achieve something many don't accomplish.
The high school I went became a support system, when I had given birth the school provided home school during my postpartum. The people around me didn't allow me to give up.

I graduated college with a Bachelor Degree in Social Work. Again, my family was always there but as an adult, I was independent mother. I had to work hard to accomplish what my parents thought me which is to work hard for a better life for my family.
This shaped me to want to help others just like so many helped me in my journey.

Again, family and hard work continues in my life. I have a husband, three year old daughter and a fifteen year old daughter and now trying to get my masters. I am still trying to create a better life for them and still trying to become a teacher to help students with disabilities. I strongly believe that everything happens for a reason. I believe that what doesn't kill you only makes you stronger.
