One of the photo composition techniques was angle and perspective. This picture was taken from a lower angle to show more of the background with the bridge. 
Another photo composition technique was the rule of thirds because the bridge is almost all on the right hand side of the picture.
Futhermore, the author really establishes clarity because you can see the reflection of the tree in the water.

Second, it has established clarity really well because you can see prevalent features in the face. For example, all the different lines you see on the Lynx's face.
Third, this picture uses leading lines because the facial features are supposed to catch your eyes.

Initially, the technique used was fill the frame because the dog probably didn't just decide to sit there right by the fence.  
Second, a technique used was color because the author tried to put some darker fence colors up against a happy dog to contrast it. This can also lead to junxaposition.
Junxaposition is shown in this picture because it's taking two opposite ideas to contrast the meaning. It used darker colors up against a happy dog to change the meaning a little bit of the photo.

Third, it is showing leading lines because it wants you to focus on the dog's mouth and the ball to show the determination the dog has to get the toy.

Initially, a photo technique that was used was the rule of thirds because Shawn is mostly on the full right side of the image.
Another technique was the shades of color the photo was taken with. They wanted to contrast a darker mood with the darker colors, even though everyone seems very happy in the picture.
This leads to my third technique, junxaposition. Junxaposition is used because of the colors to try to convey a darker meaning instead of just a happy normal feeling someone would get looking at this picture.
