The poem, " Kabul", speaks about the beauties of Kabul like the mountains saying, "Kabul encircled by her arid mountains" (Yabrizi 1).

One thing that is unique about this poem is that it speaks of Kabul as if its a woman, using the pronouns she/her. Despite Afghanistan being known for its mistreatment towards women, The author of this poem speaks of his appreciation towards Kabul, possibly even women too. Tabrizi goes to say "May Allah protect such beauty from the evil eye of man!" (2).

The poem describes Kabul as pretty much a paradise, stating " Khizr chose the path to Kabul in order to reach Paradise

For her mountains brought him close to the delights of heaven

"Not in Kabul. Kabul was largely at peace. Back in Kabul, if not for the occasional bursts of gunfire,[...] war might as well have been a rumor" (Hosseini 146). Although there are some disturbances within the city of Kabul, it was mostly at peace even with all the disturbances around it. This is really enforced by the imagery of the poem, describing Kabul as a calm and feminine beauty.

Tabrizi speaks of his appreciation of Kabul's nature for example, the trees-- "My song exalts her dazzling tulips And at the beauty of her trees, I blush".

"After Giti's death, and the thousands of rounds fired and myriad rockets that had fallen on Kabul[...]" (Hosseini 188). In Tabrizi's poem, he asks Allah to protect the beauty of Kabul from the evil intents of humans. These evil intents are shown in Hosseini's text when he is describing the terrible disasters that happened when rockets and guns are fired.

In the novel, it speaks about the cultural part of Afghanistan, "Chiseled into a sun-bleached rock cliff, they peered down a them... Laila imagined, at caravan crossing the valley on the Silk Road" (147). In the poem, it also speaks of cultural beauties and connections of culture from Kabul.

Tabrizi's poem compare's Kabul's beautiful green pastures as to be envied by the trumpets of heaven. The heavens is known as a beautiful place and the trumpets are also known to be melodious and calm.
