Q1. What are the budget measures about?
The budget measures are about cushioning the effects of inflation and higher taxes, and to support people who are struggling financially.

This can cushion the taxation on people of the common household in Singapore; car prices, housing prices, property taxes etc. since taxes on these items increased.

Q2. Why are these budget measures important to Singapore?
These budget measures ensure that Singaporeans can live comfortably even when inflation is increasing the prices of common goods by a significant amount.

The reading talked about a calvacade of new taxations that will affect the average Singaporean worker. This means that average living expenses will increase, and saving will thus be harder for the great majority of the Singaporean population.

How does this affect my role card?
The role card states that he wants to marry his long-term girlfriend once they save their first million. This will now be harder due to higher taxes, and getting a car and a house after marriage will also cost more.
