<title>          When Roman soldiers nailed Jesus&#39; feet to the cross they did it in the most painful way possible. They placed the nails so that Christ&#39;s feet wouldn&#39;t break but so that cause severe damage to his nerves in the area which they nailed his feet. They put one of his feet on top of the other and put a nail straight through the top of his foot and it went through his other foot into the cross. Insects would burrow into open wounds or go into areas such as the nose, mouth, ears and eyes of the victim. Even though the Roman soldiers put Jesus through all this pain he still forgave them saying &quot;Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do&quot; (Luke 23;34). </title>
