- Audio books can be very helpful for students with dyslexia
- Don't call on students to read aloud to the class
- Don't grade on spelling; instead grade them on what they wrote about
- DO NOT tell students to try harder, they are doing the best that they can

The core difficulty involves word recognition and reading fluency, spelling, and writing. Some individuals with dyslexia manage to learn early reading and spelling tasks, especially with excellent instruction, but later experience their most debilitating problems when more complex language skills are required, such as grammar, understanding textbook material, and writing essays.

Dyslexia is not a disease and, therefore, there is no cure.

Individuals with dyslexia do not have a lower level of intelligence. In fact, more often than not, the complete opposite is true.
