-Critical theories that are helpful for teachers are critical race theory, black feminist theory, and LatCrit. These theories help teachers better understand and explain inequalities in education and are a step towards anti-oppression in the classrooms. 
 -Teaching criticality humanizes instruction and makes it more compassionate for the youth of color.
- Teaching criticality is about learning humanizing practices in and outside the classrooms. Educators should actively live a lifestyle with compassion, respect, and consciousness for their students.

-preambles concentrate on identity, skills, intellect, and criticality.
3) Interrogation of Media
-students are encouraged to interrogate the media to understand how racism and other oppressions have been in existence over time which helps to understand the current sociopolitical landscape.
4) Fifteen Demands of Education
-a list of demands high school students created for their school from 1969 (entire list can be found on pg 43) not much has really changed
5) Critical Open Letters
-letters written by students for the next generation of students
-letter writing is an art form that could help inspire future generations in overcoming adversity
