Ridin' Dirty by Chamillionaire- "They see me rollin', they hatin'"
This song would be one that George Pullman would have because ever since he was young he was inspired to make some type of railroad train and improve the overall sleeping car. This would be shown in the "they see me rolling" part because of the train rolling on the track, and with his thoughts rolling to improve the railroad train allowed the sleeping car to be made. This song would be one he would like because it would remind him of the Sleeping Car that he had invented. The part "they hatin" could relate to Pullman leaving Chicago on June 19, 1860 to manage the new business in Central City, Colorado, leaving his brother, Albert, and his partner, Moore, to manage the Chicago business. He would also enjoy this song because it would remind him that no matter what happened, he would continue to do what he liked to do even when moving away from his family.

Work This Out by High School Musical- "We've got to work, work. Work this out. We'll make things right"
This song in one that George Pullman would have listened to on his playlist because it would remind him even through struggles they would be able to work out the perfect design for the sleeping car, reminding him to work hard. When Pullman moved to Chicago with a friend, Benjamin Field, to redesign the cars, he made an arrangement with Alton and St. Louis Railroad to rebuild one of their older coaches into a sleeping car. Him and Benjamin showed their car idea to the railroad company and then continued to build more as the railroad company operated their sleeping car on the railroads. This would be shown for "We've got to work this out" because they moved to a new location just to redesign a car and make it into their sleeping car, by working everything out in order to make it into something that could be useful. Then, the "We'll make things right" part is shown because they wanted to make the perfect sleeping car for Alton and St. Louis Railroad, and by working hard and later showing their ideas to the railroad company they were able to make things right with the car.

Let It Grow by The Lorax- "Let it grow, Let it grow"
This is one song that would be on the playlist because George's business started off as making the first car model called the Pioneer, finished in 1865. This development of just one car, lead to the growth of Pullman's business, called Pullman Palace Car Company, this grew to be the greatest car building organization in the world. This would be shown by "Let it grow, Let it grow" because his company was able to grow from the construction of just one sleeping car. Building one car lead to the growing of his company. This song would have inspired him to keep building more sleeping cars because it would be an inspiration to keep his company growing. After his company was able to flourish he had built his own town for the workers of his sleeping car. He was able to grow from just starting off making one car to making a business to having enough wealth to make a town, so he had the ability to grow. But, due to the harsh conditions of his town the workers went on strike, in 1894, which relates to today because people still are going on strike at work for what they think isn't fair. For example, McDonald's wants their wages to be raised, so with the effort of a strike they are able to try to get what they want, which is what Pullman's employees did because they didn't agree with the increase in working hours, cut wages, and the cut of jobs.

George Pullman: What are your thoughts on creating a lower berth in the Pioneer in addition to the upper berth in the Pioneer?

Ben Field: That's a great idea!

George Pullman: Yes, we can incorporate it to what we have!

Ben Field: How would we do the lower berth though?

George Pullman: We can hinge the back of the seat and the seat cushion. This would allow for two cushions, on the back and the bottom, to meet forming the lower berth seat.

This would be a text conversation shown because George Pullman and Ben Field were friends who made the plans to make the first car which was called the Pioneer. They knew they were going to have the upper berth for a bed so people can sleep, but having the idea to incorporate a lower berth, for sitting, was something that they came across. So, the conversation between the two would show their thoughts on how to get the Pioneer the best it could be, and adding the lower berth to the Pioneer was what they thought would make it even better. This idea of having the lower and upper berth is still used today in sleeping cars. So, it would be a relevant discussion between George and Ben because they both had built the Pioneer together and their ideas are what reflected how it was made, which could be done over a text conversation. This relates to today's time period because of this first original design was able to be an impact in today's years because of this idea, the design is still used today to make people who ride trains or sleeping cars have more enjoyable ride.

This could be one of George Pullman's backgrounds because it's his business and he's very proud of himself for what he created. It also shows how he grew during his life from being with his dad and helping with his company, and then when he died he went onto bigger and better things, and handling most marketing for his own company! It also shows importance of his life being the creator of a sleeping car and impacting people and making trips comfier and more enjoyable for people.

This could be one of the pictures that would be on George's phone because when Pullman was still living in New York, he had been interested in ways to improve railroad sleeping cars. On a short train trip from Albion to Buffalo in 1858, he bought a sleeping car ticket and analyzed the design of the car in some detail, making a list of the flaws, and one being that beds could not be converted into chairs for passengers' daytime use. These ideas inspired him to make his own sleeping car, allowing for this picture to be one that would be on his phone since he put so much time into it.

Tape measure would be an app he would use so he could be able to have the proper measurements of all the beds and seats so they are all equal and accurate to please the people who would be using the sleeping cars George made. Having accurate measurements was important because he needed to make it the best he could, so it had to be equal and accurate for each part used. This app would also be efficient for him because he would just be able to take out his phone and be able to see the measurements without taking the time to use an actual measuring device.

Transit would also be an app George would use because it shows different train routes so he knew when a train would arrive and where. This would help him track the sleeping cars to fix them, just in case they needed to be repaired. Having this app would be more efficient because during the time of the Transcontinental Railroad you never knew where the railroads would pop up next or there location of being built or how many people were on it going to which location next. The significance of the Transcontinental railroad was able to transport items and people from one railroad linked from the east to the west. It allowed for goods to be transported along long distances which was helpful for the economy due to the faster way of getting goods to different places, becoming more efficient. This relates to the sleeping car because it was a more efficient way to transport people among the railroads. This app allows for him to see all the ways his sleeping car would travel, giving more opportunities to grow his business as the demand of more people road his train from different areas increased.

Lastly, the app Rooms would be an app he used because it would allow him to be able to sketch out all of his design on there and configure things before actually making it. Which would eliminate the process time( because he would see mistakes before actually making the cars), and they would be produced faster. The more his business increased, the more cars he had to build so he couldn't have many errors or he would be producing them too slowly.

This would be one picture that would be on Pullman's phone because he had a wife and four children. These were important people in his life and as the growth of his business increased his family was able to join the ranks of upper-classes. This allowed him to own his own private railroads and mansions in Chicago, New York City, Upstate New York, and Florida. Due to this drastic increase in private railroads, it increased in demand for his cars. So, with the love and support of his family he was able to increase their social class and overall wealth, supporting his family.
