It is commonly worn in the Arabian Peninsula and the Middle East, neighbouring Arab countries, and some countries in East and West Africa. but looking at it..it does look like it represents the culture very well(?). It must mean that tourists will look at it and understand what it means too. It looks like a wild art style, looks cool. In my opinion.
