I could use podcasting to have them leave a review about the book that they read so I can make sure they are actually reading the texts and it could interest other students in reading the same text.

After students read their Achieve 3000 article and complete the activity, they could podcast their thought question and respond to each other podcast.

I think this is extremely applicable to our 8th grade science classes - students often need to think abstractly because the materials we cover are not things they can manipulate with their hands - this gives them another way to process the information.
