During this time, Andy Leeka has held leadership positions with multiple facilities, including being appointed by Mayor Eric Garcetti to construct and head up the Medical Relief Center in the South Hall of the Los Angeles Convention Center. Serving as the center’s chief executive director, he oversaw its design, construction, and operation. In the role, he worked with the National Guard, LAFD, LAPD, and other public agencies to develop the overflow hospital. Mr. Leeka was appointed to the position by the mayor of Los Angeles in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Before this, he served as President and CEO of Good Samaritan Hospital for 24 years. In this time, Andy Leeka oversaw its growth to be named one of the best hospitals in America. He also has a history of volunteering with Charles Drew University and Project Cuddle, which focuses on adoption, as well as other nonprofits.
