         <description><![CDATA[<div>How did people react to solar eclipses through the years?<br><br>Now eclipses are celebrated, but it was not until recently that scientists found out the cause them, for hundreds of years eclipses were feared by all. Most cultures worshiped the sun as a God, and to see it  "disappear" like that made them very scared, many people thought the sun was being eaten by an animal so they would act crazy and make lots of noise to "scare it off". In many European  countries people believed that eclipses were a bad omen.
