Peregrine falcons are raptors. A raptor is a bird of prey, e.g., an eagle, hawk, falcon, or owl. They eat other birds. These predators catch their prey in mid air. They are one of the most fastest birds. Being faster than other birds helps this falcon because it allows them to easily catch their prey. It also helps the to fly away from other predators.

The Peregrine Falcon's species were once threatened. They were threatened by a poison called DDT. Farmers used this poison to keep away the bugs that were eating their crops. But the poison started to kill the Peregrine Falcons. This happened because the bugs got contaminated by the poison, and the birds ate them which killed them. Another way it killed the falcons was when it rained on the crops. When it rained on the crops, the poison spread from the farms and contaminated the falcon's environment and their food. It got to the falcon eggs and made the really thin and brittle so when the falcons sat on them, they cracked and died.

Peregrine Falcons lay on their eggs for about a month until they hatch. They change as they grow up. They become eyases after they hatch. They stay in the nest for about 42 days. By that time they learn to fly and become fledglings. As the falcon gets older it starts to look different and goes through changes.
