In families, sometimes there will be conflicts between parents and children because of the generation gap. Sometimes I disagree with my parents's viewpoint , especially with my mom. My mother is a conservative person, she believes that boys should not do housework such as cleaning the house, washing dishes, washing clothes etc. So my brother doesn't need to do housework. But in my opinion, family members should contribute to the housework. Doing housework helps us to be more independent in life and it also relaxes us. In short, the generation gap makes our family members conflict with each other, instead of trying to argue with together, we should clam down and talk to each other, we should be tolerant of each other because we are family.

The conflict between me and my parents comes from opposing views on life. I want to explore experiences, like to expand friendships. For me, communicating with friends and going out activities, experiencing baking, making pottery, mixing… helps me to have more understanding of the world around me. But my parents' point of view is different. They think that at my age and my gender should only focus on studying, housework. They felt it was a waste of time for me to participate in outings or experiences. In the mind of parents, I feel that they still have a distinction between men and women, that is, only boys need to experience and earn money early, while girls should only study and stay at home to do housework. Nowadays, with the development of technology, everyone has smart phone and so do I. But the thing is my parents don’t think teenagers are old enough to use phone. In their opinion, adolescents wont focus on study if they are use phone. Most of teenagers use phone to entertain and their parents worry about that. Similarly, my parents used to not let me use phone for some days but there are so many other things I need to access, so many information I need to know, about school activities, news, friends’ text… My parents need to understand that using phones is just bad when users can’t control theirselves. Smart phones has both disadvantages and advantages, it is fine as long as I know how to use it logically.

At the age of puberty, I and my parent have a lot of conflicts. The main reason is the generation gap and difference opinions. Nowadays, I want to pursue art-based careers such as designer, makeup artist, etc. I think these careers are so exciting, active and freedom. In addition, I can have numerous chances to meet and cooperate with my idol. However, my parent doesn't think that, we consider my dream is unreasonable and unsafe. We hope I follow in our footsteps like work in the state-owned organization; be a doctor, or teacher because they think these jobs can bring stable salary and promotion opportunities. I can feel their hearts but I want to be myself. So that, I explain to my parent to understand my dream that this job will be very developed in the near future and I truly have enough talent to do it. Besides, I study hard and effort to prove to my parent. Gradually, they observe and then accept me to pursue this job. In short, I want to share with peers that you should talk and communicate with your parent more to understand each other. The life is too short to dispute and sad so we should love together more.

Actually, in my life, the conflicts between me and my parents usually happen. The conflict is due to the generation gap between younger and older age group. Example, in my opinion, i think eating out in a restaurant at the weekend is a good choice but my parents love to cook and eat at home. Because they feel comfortable and cozy at home. Moreover, with me, i like upbeat music such as pop music, rock, … However, my parents thinks the types of music are too noisy, they like folk music. My father always forbid me to use mobile phone at night because it is not good for my eyes. Nowadays, there are always some conflicts between parents and young children that have a negative impact on the relationship of family members and I'm not an exception. I usually have disagreements with my mom about clothes. I prefer wearing clothes that express my personality. That can be tight trousers, a skinny shirt, or a trending outfit but my mom thinks it’s so ridiculous. She wants me to wear something cute and discreet. But it’s not my taste, I like clothes that make me more mature and fashionable than other people. I try to explain or give some reasons why I choose these clothes. Everyone has their own style, nobody is similar to anyone else. People have the right to wear anything their want and so do I. After a long debate, my mom finally except my style and don’t force me to dress in accordance with my mother's wishes. After all, I have realized that the life is short, so just do or wear anything you want.

In order to live happily under the same roof, each members of the family should make concessions , take care of each other and also share, confide stories, or any problems to solve and understand more about each. Nevertheless, to be honest, I find it difficult to follow that fact because conflicts usually happen. Last summer, I didn’t have much time to hang out with my friends because my parents forced me to stay at home and do extra homework, lots of the materials about physics and chemistry; therefore, a big argument was occurred between us. Actually, I didn’t like anyone who put pressure on me. I knew what I should do and I had a specific plan of my studying process before so I wanted to spend the summertime to meet my friends, do my hobbies such as: go swimming and playing badminton. In contrast, my parents are both teachers so they always scolded at me and told me to stay at home and studied. I cannot put up with that so I make an argument with my mom. We argued a lot and many problems appeared. After that time, it seemed like every misunderstandings and difficulties totally disappeared. From that day until now, we have not had any quarrels and lived very harmonious and happily.
