I wanted to provide some additional details regarding Acuvue 1 Day Moist for Astigmatism. Within the code sheet you will find a link titled "Product details" Within the link it will include:

A picture of the product
A brief description of the product as defined by Johnson & Johnson
Product updates from this year and the previous year.
A link to the Johnson & Johnson website
A link to view the parameters for all pack quantities.

Note: I revamped the previous chart that listed current, expanded, and discontinued parameters into a new chart that also lists which prescriptions are available in a 30 pack, 90 pack, and trial.

December 10th - Purevision Toric Discontinued in 2020

Over the course of 2020 and 2021, Bausch and Lomb will be discontinuing Purevision Toric:
• January 2020 - Discontinuation of trial lenses
• March 31, 2020 - lenses in -2.25D cylinder power and all plus powers in -0.75D,
-1.25D and -1.75D cylinder will no longer be available to order
• Mar. 31, 2021 - Bausch + Lomb will no longer offer PureVision® Toric lenses

January 8th - Essilor 1.67 T7 Avance Depleted

The 1.67 T7 Avance is being depleted and will ship while supplies last. If the prescription is not in stock or not valid in a warehouse, the product will not be restocked. A substitute to offer is to upgrade to Sapphire AR or downgrade to Synergy Crystal AR.

January 23rd - Nassau247.com - Adding PO numbers

January 30th - Shipping Charges on Orders

When reviewing an order with a shipping charge that is not the normal shipping cost, PKMS has a rule to split the shipping charges across all order lines placed that day. Review the examples below to understand how the shipping charges are split:

Example #1
Account #3031466000 placed order #32443320 and 32442042. The order was processed as UPS Next Day 3pm delivery. Order #32443320 was charged $8.50 and order #32442042 was charged $0.08 to fulfill the overall total of $8.58 for UPS Next Day 3pm.

Example #2
Account #3031466000 placed order #32213958 and 32212490. The order was processed as UPS Next Day Special. Order #32213958 was charged $3.44 and order #32212490 was charged $0.51 to fulfill the overall total of $8.58 for UPS Next Day Special.

January 30th - Biotrue One Day Toric Expanded Parameters

On January 1st, Biotrue One Day Toric previously expanded their parameters of the following prescriptions available in the 30/90pack and trials :

Plano to -6.00 (Axis 30/40/50/130/140/150)
+0.25 to +4.00 (Axis 10/80/100/170)

The Biotrue 1 day toric contacts has expanded their parameters from Plano to -6.00 with a cylinder of -2.25 and additional axis 10/70/80/100/110/170.

A parameters chart will be available soon to view all new prescriptions at a glance.

Direct to patient orders from January 1st - 16th 2020 received shipping charges when the order qualifies for free shipping. Please note that we have corrected this matter of the shipping promotion to be applied to 2020 orders.

If you receive a call regarding direct to patient shipping charges, apologize for the inconvenience and credit the associated freight charges incurred in the order.

When ordering the 1.60 and 1.67 Kodak Total Blue from the Texas warehouse (F91), Oracle will provide an invalid error. If a customer is requesting this product, order the product in Ohio or New Jersey.

February 17th - Dailies Colors Reminder

Mystic Blue
Mystic Hazel
Mystic Grey
Mystic Green

February 20th - SOP Library Updated

The SOP Library on the CS Encyclopedia has been reformatted to not lag when loading. I have created sections of SOPs such as Oracle, Data entry, or other resources. Although the search box is not listed anymore, the lag time has been eliminated, and the sections of different SOPs makes searching easier.

If you have any suggestions to improve the list of SOPs if you experience issues, let me know!

February 20th - Completing Personal Sweeps

On a daily basis, CSRs are held responsible for completing personal sweeps to book open orders, cancel blank orders, or take action on orders not completed.

In order to complete personal sweeps, search your Oracle username and status Entered. Do not enter a date range as this will reveal all orders under your username in entered status.

This task is required to be completed by all CSR's. Failure to complete personal sweeps will result in a write up.

February 20th - Acuvue One Day Moist for Astigmatism Reminder

I receive recurring requests on certain acuvue 1 day moist for astigmatism prescriptions listed as invalid in Oracle. This is a friendly reminder that the code sheet provides a link to the product details which lists the product updates and the parameter/pack availability.
To read the parameters, first identify the sphere power, the cylinder, and the axis.
Keep in mind this rule of thumb to be aware of

In the plus spheres, the 90 pack has been discontinued
In minus sphere, prescriptions listed in red were discontinued per the manufacturer.

Februrary 20th - Nonstockable Contact Lenses

This is a friendly reminder that nonstockable contacts do not have the same ETAs as XR or MTO contacts. Nonstockable contacts are typically not in stock in a warehouse, but once an order is received, the purchasing team places the order with the manufacturer. The notation of a contact lens being nonstockable is being updated to the code sheet.

Below are updated ETA for contact lenses based on recent trends:

Nonstockable contacts - 4-7 business days (typically)
Stockable Contacts - 7-10 business days
XR Contacts - 3-4 weeks
Made to Order Contacts - 4-6 weeks
NOTE: Ultra and biofinity contacts might take longer

February 20th - Acuvue Oasys Transition Trial Update

Online orders with more than 5 trials of Acuvue Oasys Transitions will be placed on a web hold. If the quantity is less than 5, the order will be processed.
For CSRs that complete the warehouse sweeps, review the amount of trials listed on the order and provide a courtesy call to the customer regarding the limitation of oasys transition trials.

March 9th - Precision 1 restock delay

Alcon has experienced temporary and intermittent backorders on a small number of PRECISION1 90 pack SKUs. All but one SKU has been on high minus and/or plus powers. These backorders are a result of demand exceeding initial launch forecast and production has been increased accordingly.

This is a not indicative of a longer term stock out and is expected to be resolved in the next 4-6 weeks

March 2nd - Johnson and Johnson Expiration Date

When purchasing a box of johnson and johnson contacts, it lists a manufacturer date and expiration date. Please note the manufacturer date has an icon of a smokestack (factory building) and the expiration date displays an hourglass icon. It is a know issue for customers to mistaken the expiration date for the manufacturer date.

April 2nd - UPS Service Guarantee Update

Once an order has been fulfilled by the designated warehouse, UPS strives to deliver products to our customers with a UPS Service Guarantee. WIth the increase in customer's obtaining status on orders still in transit, effective March 26, 2020 and until further notice, UPS have suspended the UPS Service Guarantee for all shipments from any origin to any destination. Keep in mind the following updates when placing a customer's order:

Changes to Commitment Times
Commitment times for UPS Next Day Air Saver® (Shipping method code 00-32) services scheduled for delivery on or after March 30, 2020 will be extended to end-of-day until further notice.

Prior to booking an order
Please check to see if the recipient’s location is open, since business opening hours may have changed due to local restrictions. The returns department is receiving an increase of orders returned to the sender. By confirming if the customer's office is open, this will prevent orders from being sent back to the sender.

April 14th - Obtaining an ETA for stock/contact lenses

Hello everyone,

Customer service has received an increase of inquiries obtaining an ETA on orders due to the pandemic. When placing orders, keep in mind this rule of thumb when quoting an ETA when items are out of stock:

Stock lenses - 3-5 Business Days
Contact lenses - 7-10 Business Days
Accessories - 7-10 Business Days
Nonstockable Contact lenses - 2-3 Weeks
MTO Contacts - 4-6 Weeks

Oracle also provides details when a purchase order is received to fulfill backorders under the Supply and Demand feature. For more information on that feature, click here to view the SOP

COVID-19 Temporary Update to Alcon Direct Trial Policy: 20 trial lenses allowed per order (no patient name requirement)
Previous policy (April 2 – April 26): Patient names required, maximum 2 boxes per eye

General Reminders: Alcon Sales Policies & Procedures

Trial Lenses: Alcon makes available trial lenses to assist in the fitting of new patients
Trial lenses are only intended for trial fitting of patients - Eye care professionals and retailers may not: (a) sell trial lenses; (b) substitute trial lenses for revenue lenses; or (c) give trial lenses away at no charge as product promotions. Alcon instituted a trial lens policy based on revenue units purchased

April 24th - COMING SOON - Acuvue Oasys Transitions 25 pack

On March 13th, an announcement was made introducing the Biofinity Toric Multifocal. This product is set to be a limited launch product. The national launch will be May 18th. Once the SKUs are available, they will be listed on the code sheet.

April 24th - Coopervision Labeling Transition

As an FYI, Coopervision will be implementing a transition to the contacts labeling.

CooperVision is in the process of harmonizing our global labeling standards and our global lot code structures. In order to enable some current and future enhancements in the variable print space, we intend to remove the Code 128 barcode (which is purely a customer convenience barcode that typically contains the lot number and expiry date), as that information has already been embedded in the 2D barcode as shown here

Changes to note:

1 – Potentially longer alphanumeric lot code. Could be up to 21 characters.

2 – Removal of the linear customer convenience barcode.

April 29th - Air Optix Multifocal Trials Discontinued

Effective April 30th, the Air Optix Multifocal trials will be discontinued. Air optix with hydraglyde multifocal trial can be used as a substitute.

April 30th - Bausch and Lomb Trial Quantity Update

As offices start to open next week, B+L will increase our current trial lens limit of 20 trials up to 50 trials per customer order. This policy will remain in place until the end of May.

May 27th - REMINDER Invalid Shipping Method

If an order was originally assigned to F91 with Dalrock shipping and the warehouse is rerouted to F90, be cautious to also modify the shipping method to 00-60 UPS next day discount freight.

Oracle does not provide an invalid shipping method error when the warehouse is switched to F90 and the shipping method remains Dalrock. If the order is booked, the order is placed on hold and F90 does not receive the order.

May 27th - Plastic Polarlized Grey Gradient Lenses

At this time, we are experiencing issue with the supplier for the Plastic Polarized Grey Gradient Lenses (1100/1101). Oracle displays an invalid product message when attempting to order from F90 and F91. This means the product cannot be ordered and cannot remain on backorder.

There is no estimate at this time on when the product will be restocked. A notation has been added on the code sheet.

May 27th - Biofinity Toric Multifocal (Available on Code Sheet)

On May 18th, the Biofinity Toric Multifocal was launched, but product codes were not released until recently.

Biofinity Toric Multifocal is a made to order product. The product is listed on the MTO tab of the code sheet with a prescription code and Generic code avaialble.

June 25th - COMING SOON: Essilor Anti Fog with AR

Essilor has launched the Essilor Anti Fog lens with AR available to order by ECPs in Rx only, effective June 30, 2020.

As a reminder, Optifog®, our premium anti-fog solution is also available for ECPs to order. Essilor Anti-Fog AR is launching in addition to this as the solution best suited for those bothered by fog when wearing face masks.

July 14th - Coming Soon: Bausch And Lomb Infuse

Effective July 20th, Bausch + Lomb is launching a daily disposable silicone hydrogel contact lenses named Infuse.

The new Infuse contact lenses feature a next generation contact lens material (kalifilcon A), which is designed to meet the unmet needs of contact lens wearers, including those who experience contact lens dryness, according to the announcement.

The new lenses are “engineered with Bausch + Lomb's most advanced proprietary contact lens technologies,” and offer outstanding breathability for healthy lens wear while providing exceptional all-day comfort and high definition optics.

Once product codes are available, the code sheet will be updated.

July 14th - System Variance Hold name changed

When requesting to cancel or modify an order in Oracle, the hold type previously lasted as System Variance. There is now a new hold name labeled as "Temp Hold for verification with PKMS".

If any cancellation request for picked order/Order lines is requested, the system will put Order or order line on hold "Temp Hold for verification with PKMS" and await for confirmation from PKMS. Once response is back from PKMS, the system will release hold automatically and will take appropriate action accordingly.

The feature where lenses turn dark with UV exposure is known as photochromic, while "Transition" is a trademark name by Essilor. Due to increased ongoing demand for Biofinity Toric Multifocal and Biofinity XR Toric orders for both trials and 6-packs will take additional time to ship between now and the end of October.

Orders for Biofinity Toric Multifocal may take up to 3 weeks for 6-pack orders and between 2 ½ to 3 weeks for trial lens orders.

Biofinity XR Toric orders for both trial and revenue will take up to 3 weeks.

The manufacturer recently added a new packaging line that will allow them to return to normal service levels at the end of October.

As of today, our MTO process has been updated specifically when utilizing the generic codes for the remaining MTO product lines (Proclear and Biofinity)

Moving forward when you need to enter in an order with a generic code, you are now required to fill out the attached form and email it over to Tammy. This step should allow for an easier flow around ensuring all information is within the order and submission to the manufacturer is more timely.

Please note there are drop-downs that will autofill certain sections to ensure the step is as smooth as possible

December 31st - AR Coatings - Color of Light Reflection

The color of light reflection on the lens gives you clues about the quality of the AR coating. This specific feature of anti-reflective layer can be seen directly on the lens surface as a faded shade of color. It is visible only in some inclinations of the lens, without giving it a permanent color. However, there are lenses with an antiglare layer that are more transparent and colorless. Knowing the lens characteristics with different color of light reflection on coating is helpful when choosing your antiglare coating with the optician.

You can see one of these reflected colors:

Blue
Purple
Green

Purple and Blue - These coatings have about 6 layers placed one above another on the lens. It is recommended for street, home, driving (short periods), computer and television.

Green - The green coating offers superior protection and is made by the 9 layers of treatment applied to the lens. This means clear images without glare, so a longer period without eye strain. This is prescribed for those who drive more at night, and those who use the computer (extended period).

Beginning July 1^st, the Acuvue Oasys Transition 6 Pack is being converted to a flat pack from the current plastic oval hard case. The hard case packaging will be discontinued as of June 30, 2021.

There is no impact on price; pricing for the new 6 Pack packaging will remain the same as the oval hard case.

May 24th - Ñ Symbol causes errors with Oracle orders

it is identified if the special character Ñ exists in the Additional Item Desc field, this causes the order to not extract to PKMS and creates an error message "Character String Buffer Too small" .

To temporarily resolve this issue, the order can be manually replaced for the order to flow through. IT has been made aware of this issue and will work on not allowing customers to utilize special characters for patients' names.

Coopervision has made changes on their contact lens Blisters. This will not affect any outer packaging (trials that are shipped in multipacks or revenue multipacks); this is only on the inner blisters and as you know, some of our trials are shipped as individual blisters.

The reason for these changes is that new European MDR Regulations require the addition of the “Manufactured Date” on primary packaging, so to allow space for this addition, there will no longer be a separate Lot Number barcode; it will only be embedded in the 2D barcode.

However, we do recognize that this can be a frustration for you and your patient when you want your patient to have the best experience in PRECISION1® for Astigmatism. To help bridge the time your patient may have to wait for their revenue boxes, we are offering a 30 day supply at no cost to you or your patient."

ACTION: A dedicated team of representatives will contact customers with pending backorders to complete the Alcon Form to send to the manufacturer. Once filled out, the manufacturer will send a free 30 day supply for the backorder.

To qualify for a rebate an account must purchase a minimum of 100 boxes total of any combination of Biofinity sphere, XR sphere or Biofinity Energys.

Effective February 15th 2022, there will be a price increase for stock and contact lenses. It has been approximately 10 years since we last increased prices on our stock lenses and the changes are nominal.

Contact Lens manufacturers and Essilor have chosen to increase prices and we need to pass that cost onto our customers.

The price books will be updated accordingly and we can confirm and quote the new prices should the customer ask.

The Crizal Team has confirmed there will be 22 Crizal products being discontinued and 13 of the 22 products will be replaced by direct new launches.

The replacement products will be upgraded with the following new Crizal coatings:

September 12th - Bausch & Lomb Backorder Communication

Review the backorder communication for the Infuse and Purevision 2 for Astigmatism contacts:

Bausch + Lomb INFUSE® contact lenses

As a result of an increase in patient demand, B+L is currently experiencing shipment delays for Bausch + Lomb INFUSE® contact lenses The average shipment time for most orders is currently two to three weeks. However, it is possible that some orders could take up to four weeks or longer depending on the sku.

We sincerely apologize for any difficulties caused by this situation, and B+L is continuing to do everything it can to resolve these shipment delays as quickly as possible.

PureVision®2 for Astigmatism

Similar to the issues that are impacting nearly every industry around the globe, this issue stems from several supply chain disruptions from B+L material suppliers. As a result, B+L is currently experiencing a backorder for these lenses.

PureVision®2 for Astigmatism lenses is currently about 12 weeks. However, some skus particularly lower prescriptions, could take slightly longer

B+L sincerely apologizes for any difficulties caused by this situation. They are working closely with their suppliers to ensure these supply challenges are resolved as quickly as possible.

September 14th - Multiple Backorder Communications

Bausch and Lomb

Infuse 90PKs have begun seeing improvements but the bulk of the recovery will occur in October.
Ultra Toric will recover by the end of October/start of November
Purevision2 currently has a 12 week issue with the line and will not see recovery until 2023.

Coopervision

The Biofinity Family (specifically the Torics) have been suffering major backorder issues. The focus has been on recovering the revenue and this has caused an issue with a lot of the trials.
The issue peaked about 2 weeks ago and is now beginning to recover. We should see improvement in 2 weeks with major recovery in 4-6 weeks.

October 10th: Vision Source - Reveal 1 Day - 180 Pack

October 18th - Optima 38 Base Curve Removed

The Nassau247.com website displayed Optima 38 Yearly Contact with a base curve of 9.0, but the base curve was discontinued in 2009.

The base curve has been removed off the website and the code sheet.

October 20th - Crizal Lens Exchange Deadline Approaching

A friendly reminder that the exchange deadline is approaching!

On October 4th, 22 Crizal stock lenses were discontinued. For the 13 products with available replacements, the exchange process began on October 4, 2022. If the customer chooses to exchange the original Crizal lenses for the newly upgrade lenses, the deadline to exchange the products is October 31, 2022. Any lenses received by the warehouse after October 31st will not be accepted for the exchange process.

Note:

All 116 SKUs are under a “While Supplies Last” status by Vistakon. We’ll discontinue powers across all DCs once Vistakon informs us that they cannot longer supply it. As of now, all SKUs remain active in Vistakon

November 18th 2022 - Freshlook Products Discontinued

The following Coopervision revenue products are now discontinued:

Freshlook Colors
Freshlook Dimensions
Freshlook Handling Tint

The products are removed off the website and relocated to the discontinued section of the code sheet.

Freshlook Colorblends and Freshlook Vibrant Colors will be available while supplies last. If the product is showing no inventory in F90/F01 or is invalid, the manufacturer recommended the substitute of Dailies Colors or Air Optix Colors.

January 4th 2023 - Purevision 2 and Soflens Toric Revenue Availability

On March 2022, an announcement was made by B&L regarding the PureVision 2 Toric and the SofLens 66 Toric two-week revenue lenses remaining available throughout 2022.

At this time, only certain parameters for both products are being discontinued. B&L is selling down what they have for these parameters while supplies last and will provide updates on which powers are no longer have stock.

On July 2023, B&L will fully discontinue the parameter list. Review the lists of the discontinuing parameters and what is remaining active.

January 19th 2023 - Optima 38/Spare Pair Discontinued
