- Facial Expression: Give effect to the viewer that something bad will happen because of creature's facial expression although Marjane's family looks happy
- Composition: The fact that the devil was a shadow positioned in the back of the picture, surrounding the family is what symbolizes the conflicts that came after the removal of the Shah. They couldn't see how bad the problem was getting but once again, it was still there.
- Lines: This image could have been used to foreshadow what was to come. They believed that once the Shah was gone, they would have control of their own country once again. They were wrong.
