Noticing and Changing the Room Temperature

In this photo, my mother is pointing at the thermostat noticing the temperature higher than normal. The Thalamus is used to alter the brain that there was a change in temperature. The Occipitial lobes were used to actually see the higher number on the thermostat and understand that someone else must have turned the temperature up.

Typing on a Keyboard

In this photo, my mother is typing and and working on a computer. The cerebellum is used here to control her fingers to type what she wants to type. The parietal lobes are used here for a similar reason using coordination in order to type correctly and use the computer to work.

Breathing

In this video, my mother is breathing in and out. The medulla is used here to show how breathing is something we do without having to think about doing it. The pons are used similarly by connecting certain parts of our nervous system to help with things our body does without putting extra thinking into it.

Feeling fear after being Scared

In this photo, my father is scaring my mother to show that she is feeling frightened. The hypothalamus is used here because it controls reactions, such as being scared. The hippocampus is used here because it controls emotions like the fear my mom felt. The amygdala is used here because it also controls how the brain processes the fear that was felt and if it could have been a threat.

Deciding what to wear

In this video, my mother is deciding whether or not to wear this article of clothing. The frontal lobes are used here to make a decision on wearing the shirt or picking something else. The temporal lobes could be used here for language because when you are picking an outfit, it expresses your personality in its own type of language. The Broca's Area is used to express language just like how what you choose to wear everyday expresses your personality. The Wernicke's Area is used to understand and process communication, in order to pick what to wear the brain has to understand what the piece of clothing might be expressing. The Left Hemisphere is used for this example for logic in picking an outfit that matches. The Right Hemisphere is used for nonverbal and creative actions, which is needed when picking a fashionable outfit.
