In each of the main verses John Lennon starts with "Imagine" ("Imagine there's no heaven"; "Imagine there's no countries"; "Imagine no possessions") and then he challenges the world population to do what he is challenging them to imagine.

In the first stansa John Lennon's challenge is to imagine to live in a world that only exists the present and trys to make the world forget the good and the bad that happened before the present.

In the second stansa John makes as question about the possibility of us livng as a specie, as one without all the stuff like politcs, religion and interests that makes all us attack and punish each others. He refers that if that happens our world will be and live finally in peace.

In the chorus he says that people may call me him a dreamer but he isn's the only one with that big dream and if the rest of the world joins the "dreamers" we'll have peace, we won't fight each other and we'll live as one.

Next he makes us imagine a world free of capitalism, free of money.
He refers a world in which every person have the same opportunity as the other.
He dreams about friendship, about people helping each other and getting rid of individualism.
