So far I have attended eight St Joseph churches; St Joseph’s Enfield, Belmore, Croydon, Como-Oyster Bay, Rozelle, Camperdown, Newtown and St Mary’s Cathedral, Sydney. Sometimes when I travelled to these churches, they were not open. Instead of going inside, I looked in the windows and admired the outside of these churches and said a prayer to St Joseph. When I got home I did some research about these churches.
My favourite church was St Joseph’s in Camperdown. I loved this church because when I went in, there was a kind man who went to mass and he gave me a blessed necklace that had a figure of their Patron Saint. As I looked at the church, it had a welcoming statue of St Joseph and lots of other Saints including St Mary of the Cross Mackillop and Jesus. The church’s door was made of glass and had two crosses on it. When I went in, I saw 14 colourful images of the stations of the cross. In the mass, they had a helper who was doing service. This man had a cross and moved it every time the priest went onto the next station of the cross. This church was built in 1889.
