         <description><![CDATA[<div><br>Summarize the Presidential election of 1960.&nbsp; What were Kennedy’s strengths and weaknesses as a Presidential candidate?<br>John F. Kennedy was was a senator from Massachusetts who became president at 43, he was the youngest president ever to be elected President. Regardless of the total outcome the U.S. would have a leader born in the 20th century for the first time. Kennedy was also Roman Catholic no catholic had ever been elected President before serious questions were raised about the electability of a Catholic candidate, particularly in the Bible belt south. Christians were raised about Kennedy‘s ability to place national interests above the wishes of his pope. . as a way to modify these concerns, he addressed a group of protestant ministers in pledge solid commitment to separation of church and state. Despite this, his faith cost him an estimated 1.5 million voters in November 1960. Nixon chose to let religious issues out of the campaign and hammer the perspective that Kennedy was too inexperienced to sit in the Oval Office. He stressed his steadfast commitment to fighting communism and had made a name for himself as he starts red Feder in the postwar era he also emphasize the importance of his eight years as vice president.
