Hello everyone! My name is Marlene Mendes and I'm 23 years old. I live in Seixal and I'm finishing the Master's Degree in Pre-School and Basic Education in the Polytechnic Institute of Setúbal. What I like to do most is to be with my family, to be with my friends, to travel, to photograph and to have fun. What motivated me to choose this profession are the good memories I have of my childhood and the people who took care of me. I hope you enjoy my diary!

"14 types of teachers you are sure to find in any school"

After reading the text "14 types of teachers you are sure to find in any school" I got the feeling I already met with almost all kind of teachers! However, as a future teacher, I believe that my personality does not fit into a specific type of teacher but rather in the joining of some of them, for example: "the Perfect Classroom Teacher", "the high energy teacher" the Professor Sense "and sometimes" the teacher stressed ". I believe that it does not matter what kind of teacher we are, as long as our goal is the well-being of children.

"What’s the point of a Personal Learning Network?"

According to the text "What is the purpose of a personal learning network?", An NLP is the people with whom we work and we exchange ideas. However, the author states that many people do not use it correctly and that they are a waste because they used to expose everyday situations like for example what was breakfast or watching comic videos. The author also says that this also occurs in the school context.
Then he talks a little about his experience using Voicethread and what it has influenced in his way of seeing his NLP because he came to believe that the key elements should be part of an environment completely without prejudice and also have the privilege of being able to take advantage of a huge variety of ideas and experiences from educators working in a wide range of roles, all over the world. At the end of the text are 10 opinions on the initial question: "What is the point of a personal learning network?". Michael Graffin, for example, believes that PLNs, or Personal Learning Networks, continue to transform the personal and professional lives of teachers around the world.

What do I think about using the technological devices themselves in schools?

I believe in the potential of using technological devices in schools. Based on my experience, I believe that there are only a few schools that have enough technological equipment and so I do not know if it is right to allow students to bring their own devices (laptops, smartphones, tablets) because there may be children whose parents buy equipment. So how would these children feel? I believe that the teacher should properly manage his resources and allow all children to have the same experiences. Even allowing children to take their equipment to school, the teacher can encourage their students to share with their colleagues.
