The 1920s was the first time audio and film could be combined, to make a movie. This sparked a new light in people, and it lead to some of the biggest companies today. Before the 1920s sound and film didn't go together, but then in the 1920s, they did! People rushed to the theaters and then the first movies stars and celebrities were born. There were many movies during this time, and some took off, and some fills even grossed over 1,000,000 dollars.

During the 1920s, organized crime was called bootlegging and ram running. One of the leading factors for organized crime was Prohibition, the 18th amendment, banning alchol from America. This lead to millions of people breaking the amendment, and getting arrested. This also lead to some of the most notorious gangsters in the history of the world. As the 1920s went on, people like Al Capone gained a lot of power, and the authorities had a hard time catching him, especially since so many law enforcers were secretly part of the mobs.

One of the most famous things about the 1920s is the sports. One of the most famous sports in the 1920s was baseball, otherwise known as "Americas pastime". This was one of the most well known times for baseball, because the man, the myth, the legend, Babe Roth was playing. During this time the New York Yankees were the most dominating team in the world. They had some of the best players in the world, including Babe Roth. Although, baseball wasn't the only "pastime" for Americans. There was boxing, football, tennis, swimming, and golf. This period of time would be known as "A Golden Age of Competition".

During the 1920s aviation began to fly. Aviation wan't a big things back in the 1900s, and it was brand new. There were many pioneers with aviation, one of the most famous being Amelia Earhart. Amelia Earhart was one of the first women to be a famous aviator. Probably the most famous thing about her that is known today, is that she attempted to be the first person to fly around the globe. Although, during this event, she went missing, somewhere between New Guinea and Howland island. The 1920s was known as "The Golden Age of Aviation".

Installment Buying was roaring during the 1920s. Installment buying is buying some, but paying it off over a longer period of time. For example, buying a house is kind of like installment buying, because you don't pay for it all at once. During the 1920s, people were buying so many things, because they didn't have to pay it off all at once. They were spending money they didn't really have, but they though they did because they didn't have to pay if all off. Eventually this would lead into the Great Depression, and the 1930s.
