Out of all the posters it would appeal to people watching from a distance as it's very easy to spot. This poster is minimalistic because it's a comedic film which people with a short attention span that enjoy constant action and would like to watch and this poster connotes that. Red has been used in the poster to show danger and death and this has been used because it is a warning for what is going to happen in the film and what to look out for. The black also means danger and is quite a scary colour. This could connote how dark the film would be and that it might not always be such a funny film. The weapons used are quite a masculine thing as you don't associate women with guns or weapons at all as in the media industry they are seen as vulnerable and not capable of helping the men fighting. The costume is used in the poster because if it was just a picture of Ryan Reynolds then it wouldn't look as appealing as the costume does and also wouldn't promote the movie in the right way. The style of language is very informal as it appeals to the younger audience with the block capitals and he poses in a jokey way. The things that appeal to men are superheroes because they are very violent and always includes fighting. For example, there is a big fighting scene with guns and killing and male audiences enjoy watching them. There is also a lot of violence throughout the film and some scenes including women that men might like. Also the use of weapons are normally associated with men because in most films that's what happens especially in superhero movies and the crude humour, men would find funnier. As for women, the things that appeal to them are love at the start of the trailer with a couple as seen below with them holding hands and showing affection and also Ryan with his shirt off is appealing to them. The secondary audience for this film would be women because the intended audience is male as it's a superhero film and full of violence and humour. There is only a short amount of time where men won't like the part of a film apart from maybe the romance part. It interacts with people and don't ignore the influence of context and culture. The signified is a mental image the word and label has created in our minds which is a connotative representation. A syntagm is where we only see a small representation of women who are butch with dark hair and are Caucasian. There are no natural reasons to why for example to why a cat is actually called a cat, we are just led to believe that.
