project selection will be addressed specifically during this training, basically you need some inputs from the top5 meeting related to your shopfloor management S2QDC, that could not be solved within the normal reaction time of 2 weeks. Then, these topics will be assessed by OU controller & champion, in order to get some strategical (champion) & financial (OU controller) sense of urgency. Then you need to verify, whether some PDCA loops were already closed, or not, in order to address some short term solution. If PDCA loop (i.e. PSP, SMED, VSM, 5S/TPM, 40cc, performance test, etc.) was not yet done & closed, this would be your first starting point to address this issue. Otherwise, if PDCA loop was already closed, but the problem is still there, then this topic would be eligible to be addressed using a DMAIC approach.

a champion is the guy with pain and power in the organization, that is responsible for belt selection, project selection (strategical sense of urgency, generation of drafted project charter, kick-off meeting participation, etc.), gate review management, change management during the LSS project to support the belt during some processual changes -if needed-, coaching to the yellow belts, in case the local tkps coordinator or a local certified green belt would not be available, signing off the affidavit from the standard workbook after project completion, connection interface between top management and master black belt, if needed.
