Today I‘ve learned that there are roots of a plant, that slaves used to communicate with each other (thank you, Sjoerd!)
And that a car accident and changing a tire is not really a big deal in Guadeloupe (thanks again, Sjoerd 😅)

Today I learned about how bananas grow (I really didn’t know that before) and that bananas originaly didn’t grow in the rainforest. It’s one of the plants that came in to the rainforest with foreign people or plants. I laerned about the nature that lives by themself and that people should not want to interfere. It’s related to cultures and people. They will save themself.

Then I learned about globalisation/internationalisation and why we travel around the world to join a Erasmus+ course. We talked about the pro’s and the cons. Nice to bear from people from the other countries how they experience the course.

The rainforest as a classroom. you get lessons and see the beauty of nature. Plants, trees, crabs and mongoose. I learned how bananas grow, that the flower continues to grow and that bananas don't belong in the rainforest.

We also talked about globalization. The assignment on the trip to Guadeloupe gives pros and cons. The counter arguments open my eyes about making long journeys, but at the same time I also think it is important to make these journeys. It is nice to see that everyone looks at this assignment differently and comes up with different arguments

"Think Globally, Act Locally." - Quote Booklet

All of our challenges are crossborder. We need to think globally and act local to protect the world. Climate change, loss of biodiversity and nature we should protect international by acting local (everywhere). Our problems do not have borders, like nature.

What did I learn today: there was a large iguana walking on the beach. He didn't care about people. A little girl pulled his tail really hard. Instead of her mother correcting her, she laughed and made a video of it on her phone. Fortunately, a young boy intervened. Most children learn to respect animals from their parents, but education also has a major role in this, I realized even more today because of this incident.

Today I learned something is secretly already knew. That nature is the best classroom there is! Further more I liked the discussion about, pro and cons of travelling to Guadeloupe for the Erasmus+ course. It really puts everything into perspective, like wise the exercise we did about the village of 100.

The rainforest was beautiful! It is nice to see how nature, like a visual circle, continues to innovate and survive. A new tree arises from a dead tree. I didn't know how bananas grew and how they depend on the flower.

I think it's a beautiful thought that if you want to change something big, you have to start small and with yourself.

There is nothing more fun than a complete merger with nature!

Its important to take responsibility for your life and for the lives of others. We need to expand our thinking,to make wider our vision of the world. But one should not rudely interfere in the life of other peoples. The natural process of development is important, as in the wild neiture. It is a self-supporting system. there is nothing superfluous, no inappropriate actions. Think globally, act locally!

I learned about the pros and cons of the Erasmus program. And I could defend both sides. When a tree falls down, it's not dead, but keeps growing. The enslaved people that escaped took branches of bread fruit and planted them in the forrest for survival. I also discovered that behind each waterfall there is another one.
