         <description><![CDATA[<div>Pumice<br>Extrusive Igneous Rock<br>Produced when lava in a volcano has a very high content of water, which leads to gases being discharged from the volcano. This makes the lava more frothy, and when the lava cools down and harden, a light rock filled with tiny bubbles of gases is produced.<br>Features -  A light rock, usually in white, containing pores.<br>Common Uses -  Pumice has been commonly used as an an abrasive for many things such as pencils, erasers, polishing, etc.<br><br></div>]]></description>

What is a fossil? <br>A fossil is a preverved remains of a dead organism.<br>2. Explain HOW fossils form<br>Fossils form through fossilsation under special conditions. Firstly the living organism decompose, leaving the skeleton (bones). This then is buried under sediments. As more sediments gathered up pressure begins to form, the skelton and sediments compact together to form a sedimentary rock. Water is then to replace the skelton with its minerals, and as a result a rock replica called fossils are formed.<br>3. Research and find out the names of TWO animals in history that we have learnt about through fossils. <br>Dinosaurs - Went extinct 65 million years ago, now many of them were found as fossils<br>Ammonites - Another living organism that went extinct around the same time that Dinosaurs did, which are found as fossils as shells.</div>]]></description>

         <title>The Triassic Period</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Triassic is the time in the start of the MESOZOIC era, right after PALEOZOIC where the first major extinction of marine species and animal families happen. Triassic marks the origin of mammals, dinosaurs and true flies. During this period, climate were very dry  with very hot summers and cold winters. The average temperature in Triassic is generally warmer than our time. The majority of animals were the dinosaurs, since a huge extinction happens right before the Triassic period. Low-flying plants alos were present, including ferns, horsetails, club mosses, and low-lying conifers.<br>Based on the dionsaurs and warmer average temperatures I think I wouldn't survive there at all. 6 months will be an absolute miracles, assuming that I was not eaten by a dinosaur by then.</div>]]></description>

         <title>2016 Kaikōura earthquake</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The 2016 Kaikōura earthquake was an earthquake in the Kaikōura town, located at the northern part of the south island, just north of Chrischurch.<br>The Earthquake itself consists of a magnitude of 7.8 recorded. The earthquake occured 2 minutes after midnight, 0:02 NZST (New Zealand Standard Time, where everyone was sleeping. This causes a reported 57 injuries and 2 deaths. The earthquake itself lasted for about 2 minutes in Kaikōura, slightly shorter in other cities and towns of New Zealand. <br>Ruptures occured on multiple faults between the Australian and Pacific Tectonic Plate. A convergent occurs as two plates move towards each other, building tension. As enough pressure is gathered, this tension is released and the earthquake is started.</div>]]></description>
