À mon avis, this video seems to imply that Americans are very emboldened by food, in this case chicken, that is rather large, crispy, and unhealthy. In fact, the caption underneath mentions "for your health" which is "pour votre santé" which then implies that you should eat vegetables and fruits more than you eat junk food.

This is how the french say 'smoked bacon' which is, quite possibly, the most important two words in the world.
Honestly, I think I can graduate from french now. I know the only two words I will ever need to know :)

What is interesting here is that, these words literally translate to 'smoked belly' -- which make sense because bacon comes from the belly of the pig. It makes me wonder, however, how they would refer to beef plate, or, the beef that comes from a cows belly. (Probably they just call its plate, likely English has barrowed that word from French)

This video is hilarious. It is over the top and loaded with satire. Given the amount of satire that exists in French literature, I think it paints a good picture of Americans. It shows that we are able to be self reflective and realize that we take ourselves too seriously.

What I found interesting in the commercial is that it translates 'finger licking good' Tellement bon, which apparently means 'so good' without the words doigt, or lécher
It makes me wonder if the word lecherous means to us what it means because it has inappropriate or sexual connotations in French?

The phrase "une pâte sablée" translates to "sweet shortcrust pastry." It wasn't surprising per se, but it is interesting to be reminded of the cultural difference in how we treat and consume food. There is much more time and care put into French cuisine, especially when it comes to cafes and restaurants.

The French people in this video seem comically frustrated in these videos. I think it portrays the idea of situational comedy well, however, on top of that I think there is a little commentary here about the American attitude, the sort of 'I can do it' 'I don't need directions' 'You don't need to call an electrician' masculine attitude of our culture.
