The major that I have decided to pursue is Kinesiology. Kinesiology relates to the study of physical activity and human movement. This BS can be used in premedical jobs like Chiropractors or Physical Therapists which is the route I plan to take.

What meaning or purpose idea is connected to this major or career?

Ive always liked the idea of kinesiology and how the human body works and functions on a daily basis. Helping others has also been something I try to incorporate into my life whenever I can. I think seeing someone flourish or even just smile because of something that you personally did is one of the most rewarding things humans can feel.

A class needed to pursue Physical Therapy is Medical Terminology. It's offered here at the U and I plan on taking it next semester.

Again, after taking kinesiology and human anatomy classes in high school, the topics on the human body and how it functions became very interesting to me personally. Ive always felt a huge sense of satisfaction when I am able to help someone out even if its in a small way which is another reason I want to pursue this job.

PT's are constantly trying to find new ways to treat patients. whether that's new movements in a set PT workout or it's a whole new therapeutic way to try and get healthier.

The average salary of a Physical Therapist in the state of Minnesota is around 90k-120k per year for 2023. Becoming a PT requires 7 total years of school, a 4 year bachelor's degree and 3 years of PT school. Then, you are required to take and pass the APTA which is the standardized test to get your PT license. You are required to move around a lot and have lots of patience when it comes to the field. Different patients will have to go at different speeds through the recovery process depending on a lot of different aspects.
