Using either acrylic paint or the soot from a candle cover your glass or plastic sheet. Once it has dried using an etching tool or if you are using soot it is good to use a brush or soft tools. For paint I recommend painting on the plastic, whatever you do don't burn the plastic with a candle!
After your design has finished take your panel to the darkroom, make sure all chemicals are ready and  the red lights are on. It is very important that when you take the photographic paper out that no light is exposed to it.  
When you have the enlarger to the right size, the aperture is right you are ready to print.
