Tomorrow I die. Tomorrow I die, and today I want to tell the world what happened and thus perhaps free my soul from the horrible weight which lies upon it. When I was a child I loved animals, but especially those animals we call pets.
I was quite young when I married. You will understand the joy I felt to find that my wife shared with me my love for animals. We had birds, some goldfish, a fine dog, and a cat. The cat was a beautiful animal, of unusually large size, and entirely black. I named the cat Pluto, and it was the pet I liked best.

One night I came home pretty drunk, the cat, was trying to stay out of my way, to avoid me. This action, by an animal which I had thought still loved me, made me angry beyond reason; and with one quick movement I cut out one of its fear-filled eyes!.
Because of what I did, Pluto fled from me with fear, One day, in cold blood, I tied a strong rope around the cat’s neck, and taking it down into the cellar under the house I hung it from one of the wood beams above my head. I hung it there until it was dead.

One day my wife called to me from the cellar of the old building where we were now forced to live. As I went down the stairs, the cat, following me as always, ran under my feet and nearly threw me down. In sudden anger, I took a knife and struck wildly at the cat. Quickly my wife put out her hand and stopped my arm. This only increased my anger and, without thinking, I turned and put the knife’s point deep into her heart! She fell to the floor and died without a sound. Scared, I buried my wife's corpse in an old fireplace.

They searched all over the house and found nothing, took them to the basement and struck in the place where the corpse was. when they left, we heard coming out of the wall itself a horrible cry. Then quickly they began to pick at the stones, and in a short time they saw before them the body of my wife, black with dried blood and smelling of decay. On the body’s head, its one eye filled with fire, its wide open mouth the color of blood, sat the cat, crying out its revenge!

1.Characters:

*The main characters are:
The protagonist of The Black Cat, which is the man to whom everything related happens. He is a round character since he evolves throughout the work. Antagonists are both cats and also son round characters.

*The secondary characters are:
The wife of the protagonist and the police. Both are flat because they do not evolve.

2. Narrative techniques:

*Order: The structure is retrospective because it begins in the present (previous day that likes to kill recounted since the last time), and returns to the past to continue with the story.

*Time: The external time is unknown because the author does not give data.

*The internal time is the protagonist's whole life, from his childhood until the day he is going to die. In the text there is ellipsis in the passages from one time to another more interesting. This is what happens when you talk about your personality in childhood to the children when you are home.

*There is suspense that has been achieved a basis of explanation of the feelings of terror and anger of the protagonist, and by leaving the loose helmets that make him think, when he murders the cat then a drawing appears on a wall, or that the new cat he loses his eye like the previous one, and a stain reflects a scaffold.

*Narrator: The point of view of the narrator is internal because he is the protagonist of the narrator of the facts, he is not omniscient.

*Description and dialogue: At first we anticipate that he will die and he describes that he is not crazy. He describes his character in childhood, his relationship with his wife and with animals. As he is degrading, and his feelings of hatred for the cat and humanity. What it feels to assault, and kill the cat and his wife. The joy he feels when he gets rid of the cat and the rage when the body of his wife and the cat is discovered.

In the dialogues there is only one of direct style that is the one that realizes with the policies and in which the cake is discovered.

The rest of the text is an indirect style dialogue.

*Vocabulary:
Changeable - Inn - Friendship - Perhaps - Anger - Cellar - Beams - Petted - Innkeeper - Widly - Fireplace - Decay.
