In mid-August, Giants quarterback Geno Smith had some kind words to say about hopeful receiver Travis Rudolph. When asked if he was particularly impressed with any of the Giants’ receivers he has worked with during the off-season, Smith said, “Travis Rudolph is a guy who you can count on,” going on to praise his understanding of the game. 

Despite being the top receiver for the Florida State Seminoles last season, Rudolph went undrafted by an NFL team after college. Now he sits as the Giants’ fifth receiver and a punt returner. Despite not having returned punts during his college career, Rudolph said he is comfortable with the position. 

Giants coach Ben McAdoo was realistic regarding Rudolph’s field time so far, saying there have been ups and downs.
