         <description><![CDATA[<p>Sara :</p><p>I have chosen the "Note taking APPS" to critique. </p><p>These can be beneficial but their effectiveness, I imagine would depend on how they are designed, used and how capable the user is.</p><p><br/></p><p>Strengths:</p><ol><li><p>Lots of APPS allow for dictation, handwriting and spelling support. This would be good for childrne who struggle with writing but can express ideas clearly.</p></li><li><p>Speech to text  APPS (and vice versa) allow the student to focus on their ideas and place less focus on spelling. Once written down, student can then review what they have written.</p></li><li><p>APPS add automatically spell check, improved format, and help with organisational skills.</p></li><li><p>Automatically allow for change of colour on background, font, sizing, which reduce stress.</p></li></ol><p><br/></p><p>Limitations:</p><ol><li><p>Some APPS can be over cluttered and unclear as to what to do. Some update and change format and this could overwhelm.</p></li><li><p>Digital divide. Not all students have same digital skills or access to tech. Teachers and assistants may not be familar with software to support them.</p></li><li><p>Over reliance on technology means they might lose the opportunity to learn the spellings and concepts that they do need to learn. It removes the repetitive nature needed for rules to be embedded.</p></li><li><p>APP is removed, WIFI fails or tech can all be potentially limiting.</p><p> </p></li></ol>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>I chose reading aids as this particular Sam i am thinking of is now post primary and I felt none of these things worked for them </p><p>Modelling reading</p><p>Paired reading</p><p>Repeated reading </p><p>This is been masked with her for many years and she became mute through pressures. </p><p>There was never any continuity and no support. </p><p>However at home she loves to read. </p><p>She has only recently had a diagnosis and she is year 12 and only getting the things put in place for her now. Very little interactions with any of her teachers and has just recently been given the support of a classroom assistant who is unreliable as she is meant to do 5 full days but does less then 2, no one replaces her.</p><p><br/></p>]]></description>
