         <description><![CDATA[<div>1)  <strong>STEM exhibition of STEM Club</strong> – The STEM club students selected topics, formulated hypotheses conducted research and prepared models which were exhibited in the school. The exhibition was judged by renowned scientists from Punjab Engineering College and Central Scientific Instrumentation Organisation.<br>2) <strong>Photography Club</strong> – Photography walks around the city and at Jibhi, Himachal Pradesh – their work will be put up as an exhibition. They also participated in an Interschool competition organized by Chhatbir Zoo as part of Wildlife week celebrations.<br>3)<strong>Katha Club</strong> students participated in the GiggleIT project by International Association of School Librarianship and uploaded their work on the website. The GiggleIT Project is an original online publication of children’s humorous and creative writing from around the world. It is written by kids for other kids to read and enjoy.Students have interacted and interviewed story tellers and authors that have visited the school. Students also edited and contributed their writings for a special guest edition of the NIE Times of India. They have contributed their writings for children magazines. They are writing short stories that may be published at the end of the term.</div><div>4) <strong>Theatre Club</strong>: Conducted a street play ‘Yeh Kyon Hai Hota?’ at the Plaza, Sector 17, Chandigarh on gender sensitization. They are also preparing a stage show with a confluence on all five forms of theatre to be staged at the end of the year.<br>5) <strong>Robotics</strong> – Our hosted and participated at WRO 2016; started academy for preparation of FLL by professionals from RoboGenius Academy.<br>6) <strong>Film Making Club</strong> – Students of the Film making club shot two films which were premiered at Asia’s largest film festival for youth and children  - SIFFCY 2016 organised by the Smile Foundation at Siri Fort, New Delhi. They participated in the Film festival and got an opportunity to interact with Mr. Jitendra Mishra, an acclaimed film director.<br><br><br><br></div>]]></description>

Ramneek Kaur Malhotra, the SEARCH coordinator of the school, bagged the Best TetraPak Teacher Coordinator award.<br>3) Our school also participated in the <strong>Wipro Earthian Challenge</strong> this year<br>4) <strong>Edtech Summit 2016:</strong> -Students of Class X – Isha Sinha and Jasmine Bal – participated in the Edtech Summit 2016 organised by Learn Today at Vasant Valley School, New Delhi. They presented a report of their collaborative project ‘Ik Saanjh’ with Stellar International School, Banur and ‘Sai Ka Pyar’ schools run by an NGO for the marginalized sections of the society.</div><div><br></div><div><br></div><div>&nbsp;<br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>1</strong>)  <strong>Author Visit-Dr. Devika Rangachari<br></strong>Dr. Devika Rangachari, a historian and a well renowned children’s author visited Learning Paths School, Mohali. An interactive session on writing skills was arranged for the students to mark the celebrations of ‘International School Library Month’. The author shared her experience about her journey on becoming an author which she had never thought about as a child. Despite this, she has won 20 national awards for her published works. ‘Writing is flexible and goes easily with any career that you choose’, said Devika to the students. She suggested students to write about their fears and anxieties as this will certainly help them to get rid of these. </div><div>2) <strong>Storyteller</strong>: - The students of classes I–IV were treated to an enthralling session of story-telling conducted by <strong>Ms. Simi Srivastava, master storyteller and founder of ‘Kathashala’.</strong> She used the performing arts to narrate stories and the accompanying live music was like the icing on the cake. <br>3) <strong>TOI Newsmaker's Meet- </strong>The TOI in collaboration with LPS organized the NIE News Makers' Meet in the School Auditorium.. The guests of honour were <strong>Major General Raj Mehta (Retd) and the Deputy Resident Editor Biju P Alias.<br>4) Visit by USA Universities' Representatives-</strong>Linden Educational Services (LES) based in California brought a group of representatives from accredited US Universities to Chandigarh to interact with Students of classes 10 &amp; 11 <br> <br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<ul><li> Google India conducted a competition for junior students--- 'Code to Learn Contest 2016'. In this contest Tejas Shandilya Class VI came FIRST at the State level and his Project reached the final level in the Class V &amp; VI category. He got a certificate of appreciation for his achievement.</li><li>2) In the 2nd NTTA Taekwondo Championship Amritansh of I D has won a SILVER Medal, Madhav Chadha &amp; Keshav Chadha of IV C have won GOLD, SILVER, &amp; BRONZE Medals.</li><li>3) The LPS 'Jet Toy' team obtained the FIRST position in the Region in the AWIM Regional Olympics held today. The team comprising of Varun Rastogi, Himkaran Duggal, Tejas Shandilya, &amp; Rupandeep Singh (all from class VI) will represent the region at the Nationals to be held in Delhi</li><li>4) Tavleen Kaur wins Sardar Dalip Singh Table Tennis Tournament at St. Soldier's School.</li><li>Kavin Saini, UKG A, has won a GOLD MEDAL each in the 'All India Roller Skating Championship' and in the 'All India Roller Skate Basketball Championship</li><li>Atamjit, V D, has won a Bronze Medal in the 1500 mt race at the Punjab School State Roller Skating Championship held at Patiala. </li><li>Aahana's Model---First at the Regional &amp; State Level---has been recognized among the top 60 models of India. She has received a certificate of appreciation and an award for it from Dr. Harsh Wardhan, Union Minister for Science &amp; Technology at the National level of Inspire Science Exhibition at N. Delhi. She is the only student from Chandigarh and Punjab to get this Award. The theme of her model is 'Eco-Friendly Solutions for the Next Generation'.</li><li>Parvita, Nehal, &amp; Aarushi, Class IX, have WON the 'Punjb School State Table Tennis Championship'.</li><li>Harmanbir, Class XI, has won two BRONZE Medals at the 'Punjab School State Roller Skating Championship' held at Patiala.</li><li>Learning Paths School Received the 'Search Impact School Award' in New Delhi and was declared FIRST in the Tri-City. Ramneek also received an Award for being the BEST Tetra Pak Teacher Ambassador</li><li>Gurojas UKG A is making a good name for himself in the field of Karate and has won a number of medals in various competitions.</li><li>Jasmine Saini II D who has won 3 Gold Medals at the State level Roller Skating Championship has been selected for the Nationals!</li><li>Parvita Singla won the Gold Medal in both U-15 and U-18 categories at Punjab State Table Tennis Championship</li><li> Kindergarten cricket team stood 1st runners up in the Toon Cricket Tournament at Chitkara International School.</li><li>Students took part in an Inter School Competition (Rhyme, Poetry &amp; Coloring) hosted by Ryan International School. Surinderbir, LKG, stood FIRST, in Rhymes, Agambir stood SECOND; Shravya, Class II, stood THIRD in Poetry Recitation; Myrah, Class I, stood FIRST in Rhymes; Karman, Class II, stood SECOND in Poetry Recitation; Simran, UKG stood FIRST in Rhymes; Navrose, Nursery, stood FIRST in Coloring Competition.</li><li>Students have won various prizes in the competitions held at the British library, Chandigarh to mark the 100th birthday celebration of the most loved author 'Roald Dahl'.In the category of ' Roald Dahl's Fancy Dress competition, two students grabbed the first and the third positions. Shaurya Jain stood First and Siya Bedi stood Third in the tricity. In the category of 'Phizz- Whizzing Roald Dahl Quiz', our two students grabbed the first and second positions. Vrinda Chopra stood First and Varun Rastogi stood Second.</li><li>Aarish Vaid UKG D has won a GOLD MEDAL in Martial Arts in an Inter Club Competition held in Kharar.</li><li>Harnoor and Pelf are WINNERS in the 2nd Chandigarh State Table Tennis Ranking Tournament held at the Table Tennis Hall, Sector 23, Chandigarh.</li><li>The Junior and Senior LPS Boys stood SECOND in the 11 Even Sports Inter School State Championship Punjab 2016.</li><li>Rehmat Singh (IX) &amp; Sahib Sharma (VIII) were declared the 'Second Runners-Up' at an Inter School Quiz Competition held at 'The Gurukul' Panchkula</li><li>Arshpreet Kaur VII A won a Silver Medal in the 'Youth Category' and a Bronze Medal in the 'Junior Category' in Pistol Shooting at the Dist Level at Fatehgarh Sahib.</li><li>The Learning Paths Basketball teams---girls and boys---are leaving for Austria on June 13 to take part in the World Games being held at Klagenfurt from June 13 to 21. Accompanying them is their Sports I/C Dr. Nivedita Ranot.</li><li>The U10 Team won a match against Ukraine and the U12 Team won a match against Austria. Overall both teams have come second in their respective pools. </li><li>The U 10 LPS team won their match against Austria!</li><li>The LPS U-12 Team won against Ukraine in Austria</li><li>LPS students in Austria won the U-10 Match against the team from Turkey</li><li>Vedansh Ranot, Lavanya Thakur, &amp; Manveer Kaler won GOLD MEDALS in the fitness skill competition in Austria. They are winners from among students of 8 countries!</li><li> LPS Students sweep the 1st Mohali Ranking Tournament conducted by Mohali District Table Tennis Association.</li><li>Seerat Kaur VI A won the U-15 Chess Championship held by Mohali Dist Chess Association</li><li>Mrs Komal Singh spoke about state of education in Punjab on Zee Punjabi</li><li>In an Inter-City Competition organized by the Blood Bank Society of Chandigarh, Learning Paths School came FIRST. The students had to make bulletin boards exhibiting the theme 'Prevention of Thalassemia'. </li><li>Arsh Seth and Manroop Kaur were selected to give a presentation at The International Youth Conference 2016 hosted by The Doon School, Dehradun. The theme was 'Science &amp; Environment' and they were part of the 23 schools finally selected from among 70 schools of India and abroad. </li><li>Vishruti won a consolation prize for the declamation, Kashish and Mudrika won a consolation prize in declamation in hindi, Vitasta won a consolation prize in the bookmark making competition conducted by the central state library Chandigarh for the schools in tricity.</li><li>Participated and bagged third position at the regional level of Punjab Youth Science Congress 2016.</li><li>Participated in Inspire award Science exhibition; Aahana Singla of Class VII bagged a Certificate of Appreciation for being one of the top 60 models at the National Level Exhibition and Project Competition hosted at the India International Science Festival 2016.</li><li>Participated at the Jet Toy and Skimmer Competition regional level organized by AWIM. Our Jet Toy team won the regional level and will be participating at the national level competition to be organized at Delhi on 6 and 7 January 2017.<br><br></li></ul><div><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<ul><li><strong>World Wisdom Quiz 2016</strong> The regional level was hosted in our school. Our team came Second in the Juniors (Classes III-V) and Third in the Middle School level (Classes VI – VIII).</li><li>&nbsp;<strong>Olympiads </strong>– Students participated in National Cyber Olympiad, National Science Olympiad, International Math Olympiad, International English Olympiad, Australian National Chemistry Quiz, Green Olympiad, Hindi Olympiad, French Olympiad and NTSE.</li><li>World Robotics Olympiad</li></ul><div>World Scholar's Cup:- ·&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Our school was the first school in the tricity to host the regional round of the World Scholars Cup in August 2016. This is a very prestigious international competition which is held at various levels, the first one being in schools. Many schools of North India participated in the same. The event was&nbsp; conducted by representatives of the 'World Scholar's Foundation Team, Los Angeles, USA.The competition saw a good participation from the schools of the region. Our students also performed well and many teams have been selected for the global round.</div><ul><li>&nbsp;Participated in Inter School Hindi Declamation</li><li>Vibgyor Art competition at St. Soldier’s School, Gharuan</li><li>&nbsp;Inter School declamation , slogan writing, book cover designing conducted by the Central state Library Chandigarh.</li><li>&nbsp;Inter School Debate Science quiz and poster making at Visitavity, St. John’s School, Chandigarh; Travel Quest Quiz conducted by Thomas Cook&nbsp;</li><li>Participated in Hindustan Times ‘Inter School Big Quiz Contest’ in the tricity&nbsp;</li><li>&nbsp; Participated in CBSE and Petroleum Conservation Research Association (PCRA) Inter School Painting and Essay Writing Competition.<br><br></li></ul>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<ul><li> <strong>Inter- House Business Quiz</strong></li></ul><div><br></div><div>LPS Commerce &amp; Business Department organized the first Inter-House Business Quiz at Learning Paths School. The students were tested on their knowledge of current affairs, personalities, brands, punch lines, history of business &amp; economic world. The quiz was conducted and presented by the Quiz Master - Mr. Mushtaq Ahmed.</div><ul><li><strong>Industry Interaction</strong></li></ul><div>LPS Commerce students had an enlightening and eye opener session with Mr. Venkat Matoory, CEO - JA India. The purpose of the session was to enable the student to comprehend the Business and Industry Structure. The Student will be doing a summer project on Industry of their choice in which they think their professional interest lies.</div><ul><li> <strong>Education to Profession | Managing the transition</strong></li></ul><div>Learning Paths School Mohali (LPS) organized a seminar on managing the transition from education to profession, especially through the high school years. The event saw participation from ~150 students and parents. Setting the above context, Mrs. Komal Singh, Principal, LPS Mohali initiated the proceedings. Venkat Matoory, CEO JA India and Senior Director, IENI, JA Worldwide engaged the participants on the nuances of intersection of education and profession, that there exists a transition at this intersection, which needs to be actively managed. Vivek Atray, IAS, Author and Motivational Speaker, exercised participants’ thought on building present day student into resilient future professional. While emphasizing the traditional value of commitment and dedication being sine qua non, he drew attention to emerging flexibility present day Industry offers and why having a big picture early on allows one to thrive despite circumstances. Vinu Warrier, Managing Partner, eduVelocity walked the audience through opportunity world present day Industry offers for the commerce professional – the most pertinent being academic qualifications barely restrict options and that most doors to success are open despite commitments one may have already made to academic disciplines. Followed by active interaction between the audience and speakers, students and parents posed a range of queries on interests, academic disciplines and professional pathway.</div><div><br></div><ul><li><strong>Work Place Skills Session for LPS Teachers</strong></li></ul><div> Different strokes</div><div>This session was conducted for teachers of Learning Paths School, focused on different situations call for different styles of handling of students. The session emphasized that teachers are magicians who surprise their students by enabling them to succeed or achieve way beyond what students expect from themselves. It was learning, exploring, fun in the workshop which was one in the series of faculty development program run for Learning Paths by Open Hand Solutions .</div><div><br></div><ul><li> <strong>JA India Business Challenge (Chandigarh region)  Learning Paths School, Mohali</strong> being the partner school for Junior Achievement hosted the final round of JA India Business Challenge Competition (JAIBC) for Chandigarh region. 213 teams from 22 different schools and institutions participated from across the northern region in the coveted competition to win the exciting cash prizes up to Rs.30,000/-.</li><li><strong>Work Place Skills Program</strong></li></ul><div>Commerce and Business Studies wing of Learning Paths School, Mohali, has initiated <strong>Work Place Skills Program</strong> for both students and teachers of Commerce Department.The duration of the program will be 30 hours stretched over a period of two years.The school has appointed a highly skilled HR professional,<strong> Mrs. Prerna Kalra, Founder - Open Hand Solutions</strong> for conducting Work Place Skills program classes at predefined intervals. The initiative has been undertaken essentially to expose our Young Adults (students) to the reality of work life. This program would enable the students to identify their potential and strengths and link the same to a suitable professional line out of the plethora of options available in the market. Mrs. Prerna Kalra, will also act as a student coach and conduct workshops and bring Industry intervention, from time to time, to groom and hone business skills of students.</div><div><br></div><ul><li><strong>Leadership Skills Program</strong></li></ul><div>A highly interactive workshop on the topic “<strong>STUDENTS AND INDUSTRY-ADVANCING ASPIRATION &amp; REASON, DILIGENCE &amp; SENSE (STANDARDS) was conducted </strong>in which a large number of students and faculties of different schools across the north region such as Spring Dales (Amritsar), Ryan International (Chandigarh), Bhavan Vidayalaya (Panchkula), Dikshant International (Zirakpur) and Carmel Convent (Chandigarh) participated in this event. The resource speaker for this workshop was Mr. Venkat Matoory, CEO JA India, and Senior Director, India Enterprise Network, JA Worldwide who said that the journey of leadership is a fascinating one and it begins when one stops working for oneself and works for the excellence of one’s team. The three days session focused on gaining clarity on the concepts of self and mapping of achievements.<br><br><br></div><ul><li><strong>Helper’s Hague: Student Company Launch</strong></li></ul><div>Commerce students of Learning Paths School have launched their first student company, Helper’s Hague JA Student Company.          <description><![CDATA[<div><br><br></div><div>Intellectual marathon - the ‘race of the mind’ - young students of LPS take part in this annual event with enthusiasm and unmatched zeal. Students run a race to win medals in all curricular subjects - English, Math, Science, Social Science, Punjabi, French, Art and Craft, General Knowledge, Sports and IT. Students choose their subjects and compete with each other Inter House to test their mettle at various competency levels - acceptance, balance and challenge. Students not only receive medals at an individual level, but the total scores of each House are calculated to decide the winning House. </div><div><br></div>]]></description>
