This year in Maths, I learned more facts about algebra, for example how to expand brackets, form equations and a lot more. Another thing I learned was about angle facts, which I think I need to work on. I am doing good with most of the things I learned with algebra, but I need to seriously consider working on my speed and accuracy, since I do not always work enough. I feel very confident with the unit , although back in Year 6 when I first started algebra I thought it was extremely difficult.

Every week I get assigned homework on this website called Sparx Maths which lately has been challenging. My only complaint about the website is that you can only finish the homework when you have answered everything correctly, even though it has helped me a lot with preparation for the expressions and equations assessment.

My current grade in Maths is M and I think the only way to improve my grade is (like I said before) to improve my speed and accuracy.My ATL is 4.

I, as a short-term student councillor, have been putting a lot of effort into gathering votes for my meetings from my tutor group . I have also discussed with my head-of-year about what I have gathered from and agreed with. Unfortunately, the same way time runs out, so does people’s ideas.

This year in English, I comprehended and annotated a number of childhood poems using essays to reflect what I understood from the poem(s). In addition to that, I wrote a number of persuasive speeches, each for a specific purpose.

My current grade in English is E. To improve, I can try using more colons and semicolons . My ATL in English is 3.

Science

This year in science I learned about cells and their functions.
Also, I learned about atoms, elements and compounds.
My strength is the ability to complete my work in most lessons.
My current grade in science is S+. I can improve by asking more questions in class. My ATL is 2.

History

The only thing I learned in an entire term was what “BC” and “AD” stand for. My grade is D and my ATL is 2.

Languages (Including Arabic)

In languages, I learned more French and more Arabic. I also learned two new languages (German and Spanish). They were both very challenging, so my languages choice is French. In Arabic, I need four skills to get a good grade: reading, listening, reading and writing. I need to work on listening.
My overall grade is S. My average ATL is 2.

Geography

Lately, I have been learning more about OS maps and the effects of tourism on the economy, environment and population . Examples of OS map symbols are parking, viewpoint, campsite, and many more. I also learned more about the equator, prime meridian, Tropic of Cancer, Tropic of Capricorn , e.t.c. My grade is S. My ATL is 2.

In art, I continued developing my drawing skills and shading techniques. My strength was the ability to make drawings that fill the pages. I need to work on blending the colours together to make a more realistic drawing. For some unknown reason, my grade is D, even though I spent a lot of energy drawing the fruits, insects, letters, you name it. My ATL is 2.

Islamic
